Who knows? There will be a senior who has played sparingly the last 2 years in mop up time, and a sophomore who has barely seen the field. Also a true freshman redshirting this year. To be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me if all 3 transfer.
This crap of an offense doesn’t fit any of these 3 guys anymore than it did White.
If Kevaris Thomas signs I wouldn’t be surprised to see him thrown to the wolves as a true freshman. He is what Clown Shoes wants in a QB. Plus it would give Clown Shoes a whole year of excuses being able to say “Hey look guys....we’re starting a freshman at QB....you’re gonna struggle”
Dual threat/zone read... it’s what we’re stuck with.
which isn't a bad option if he can read with decent percentage of accuracy....
that is the issue most have within that design.....
granted our schedule wasn't close to playing against the cream of any elite this year, but if there's one thing southern miss found out when going to that schema???.....if he sucks, he really sucks.....
his replacement (KG) that was 'injured' this year to some extent has easily achieved my expectations of what you're looking for in that type of QB at our level.....most of our fan base knew KH was dogshite after hop-a-long pulled the shirt last year (some of us made feeble attempts in the 'hope' dep't going into this year....not me)
select a well versed from HS or JUCO from a similar system, surround with speed and height at the skill positions, develop a semi-decent O line, and you can hit the home run over the long haul more than not....
at that level, that offense is almost indefensible when it's clicking....
when it is, all it takes is to run game clock and overteach the fundamentals of protecting the ball throughout the season/game.....do those two things with success and you don't wear your D out by Q3......
in a simple macro nutshell, that's my take....
