Game day and I will be sorely upset if WKU loses this game, as bad as we have been, we should still be a much better team.
It is amazing how much, in only one season, that the ability of one football team can change. Last fall WKU handles a pretty good Memphis team (8-4 coming in) by 20 points. Approximately one year later and there is consternation over facing a very mediocre Georgia State team and the concerns are based on valid points.
A soft schedule basically set up to make double digit wins a likely scenario. You have a new staff, often inept at critical times. The worst rushing attack in the nation. A team beset by numerous injuries to key personnel. This team has had moments where they actually played pretty well, the win over MTSU and the thumping of Charlotte come to mind.
Then there are some difficult moments too, the debacle at FIU, the abysmal 4th quarter vs FAU, and the low point, to me at least, the 7 point performance against Illinois. Losing to Georgia State might supplant even the Illinois loss as the low point in a disappointing season in BG.
