RE: 12/13 AAC Basketball Games
It's funny- while I know the Temple game is a huge one, I think the actual more important one is Houston @ LSU. Houston wins that and they're in a position where if they can beat Providence next week, and have even a decent conference season- they're in the tourney pretty easily. Temple with their SOS should be pretty safe win or lose as long as they're solid in conference play.

While I have no problem with an unranked team storming for a win over #1.....I'm not sure you could have made his point for him any more than you did.

RE: 12/13 AAC Basketball Games
Temple can put the AAC basketball on the map in a huge way tonight! Would even out the rivalry loss by Cincy.

If the Owls can pull this off and avenge Houston by beating Drexel this weekend, they end up what? Top 15 next week?

Crazy that they aren't receiving any votes. 2 road losses to La Salle and George Washington, A10 is down but those are good programs historically.

Too easy to get caught up thinking what-ifs.. Go win the Big 5!

1. If having the #3 team doesn't have the league on the map, beating #1 won't do it. But I do hope they win. For lots of reasons.

2. I highly doubt they would jump that much. Bad losses are hard to overcome at this point in the season unless you are Duke. Also, poll mechanics make it hard to make jumps that big. But it would definitely put them in the T25, which would be GREAT for the league. It would be really nice for the league to enter conference play with 3 teams ranked.

I haven't seen Temple much yet. Luckily this game isn't on the little channel the big east likes to put their games on, so I'll have a chance to watch.

RE: 12/13 AAC Basketball Games
Villanova is an elite defensive team and is very efficient on offense. I am not optimistic Temple can win this one. It would take a career game from Alston, Rose, or Obi to make it happen. Temple would have to improve drastically on the defensive end tonight to make it happen too. Nevertheless, I will be sitting 5 rows up from Temple bench screaming my head off if they win!

FS1 is on every cable package I've seen and it's even on all of the sling and PS Vue packages. Who is your provider?

1. Not trying to diss WSU at all. But I feel like the bit of coverage they're getting is treating them almost like a basketball independent. Not much talk about the American as a whole basketball conference.

Temple is somewhere between 2-5 best team. If the conference's 3/4/5th best team tops the #1 then it will force the national media's hand and take the AAC seriously.

It's almost like a taboo. Articles/tweets won't actually say the American or AAC. They just say "in conference" or WSU's conference, etc.

2. Do you consider Temple's losses as bad? I thought that road/neutral site losses are supposed to be heavily discounted. La Salle's rpi is 75, George Washington 158.

I'm just surprised Temple's not even getting votes when Middle Tenn got a vote having much less impressive wins and a home loss to Belmont (rpi 118).

Whatever it's early. Win tonight and they'll be comfortably in the top25!

An unranked team taking down #1 is always court storm worthy.

Win this week, and Temple will definitely crack the T25. Jumping to 15 will just be tough because poll mechanics. I hope it happens.

I think both losses are to teams that will end up in the 150 range of kenPom and probably RPI. While those aren't "bad losses," they aren't great games either. FWIW, WSU has been crucified for 4 years of playing a ton of games home and away against those types of teams. You get no credit for beating them, but they really aren't that bad of a team where it's an auto-win, especially on the road.
