Some of you who posted that Memphis would not bring many fans to this bowl game should respond. I would love to read some more of your intelligent thoughts and insight.
We had a genius say that we wouldn't draw 25,000.
Exactly Stammers.
I bet the liberty bowl admin is pretty upset about all these Tiger fans buying tics. Ya know, this means less hotel rooms being rented out.
My company owns hotels in this market. the Liberty Bowl staff really doesnt care if we sell rooms or not. I mean, they are nice and want the market to do well but it doesnt help/hurt their bottom line.

Right. I don't see a connection between the two except that maybe the Memphis CVB was hoping for more out of town fans but....Iowa State travels well. I just checked the Ticketmaster site to see how many seats were still available to the game and, unless the U of M has blocked out a bunch of tickets...this game is almost a sell out with just a few hundred seats left. Ticket brokers may have bought a bunch too to resell at a higher price.

I'm curious if the LB will remove the tarps in the end zone and sale those seats. They should if they are smart.

The $85 tickets are section 117-123. Does anyone know what rows are included in those sections?

The cleanest way to put it takes a freaking paragraph, so sorry for this...
Per my convo with the TSF lady at the front desk (in person) -
The TSF donors had first shot at the chairbacks. And when I say TSF donors, the lady at the TSF counter said "the $5000 and up TSF donors" (with that little squint that implies she's sorry, but I'm not in that group). How many $5000 and up donors do we have? Enough to buy out all of the chairbacks on the East side? I don't know. If they don't buy them all, then the rest of us peons will get them according to how may TSF points you have on your account. I have 30. I don't know if that's good or bad, but I just became a TSF donor 2 years ago. So, I'm sure that whatever we get, it will be in order of their TSF hierarchy method, and will start on the first row behind the chairbacks, at the 50, and then radiate up and away from the point.
Which really sux, cuz we wanted to be down by the band.

Correct, but I don’t have the 40 extra bucks (and apparently a 20 dollar fee ) to spare. That said, I’ll be there!

RE: Liberty Bowl Tickets through Ath dept.
I wanted 50 yard line seats and chairbacks.
I couldn’t get a guarantee of what my seats would be through TSF so I went to TicketMaster and got the seats I wanted.
They cost me $250 per seat but I know where I’m gonna sit and got the seats I wanted
But before I bought them I called my Tiger rep Charles Harris to make sure we fulfilled our allotment. He assured me we had so I didn’t feel bad about buying the seats I wanted. Charles is awesome and a great Tiger.
Had we struggled to sell our our allotment then I would have bought thru the athletic department.

Have you guys never been to a Liberty Bowl?
Yeah they remove the tarps. There is nothing left in the stadium or on the field to indicate that the University of Memphis played there that season. The literal lone exception I know of is the paint under the press box that reads HOME OF THE TIGERS.

The LIberty Bowl game puts up special bowl tarps for their game. They do every year. I'm not talking about University of Memphis. This is the LB's rodeo and they call the shots for their game.

Hopefully we, an our league, can parlay this interest into getting better bowl tie ins.
Key would be if it is not Memphis, how many other AAC teams would bring a boatload of fans. How many would we bring to a Nashville if that is the destination for our first or second place team.

I would like to believe we'd take 25,000 - 30,000 to Nashville for the Music City Bowl, but maybe it would depend on the day of the week and opponent. It's less than a 3 hour drive

No way we take more fans to Nashville than current season ticket holders.
10,000 would be a good crowd- we might get a few more for an “access 6 “ bowl.

The potential matchups for the Music City Bowl are great (SEC, Louisville, etc.)
8,000 ticket allotment would sell easily. Don't see how we wouldn't have 20,000 for MCB if we were to be in it against a P5 team.

Didn't we have 10,000 or more for NOLA bowl? Just my opinion, but I feel as the football fan base has grown considerably in 15 years, and Nashville is a much easier trip. Not to mention we probably have a few thousand Tiger fans living in middle TN that could make a bowl game when otherwise not traveling down here for reg season games.

We took way more than that to the Birmingham Bowl 2 years ago.
