Appears to be a good look...scalable, there are a lot of similarities between the schools to where this type of hire can translate to a successful football program during his tenure. He would be recruiting similar type athletes to Rice that is scalable to what Stanford recruits.

How do the West-Owls feel about this potential hire?

Happy if we get the deal done. Developed some real talent at Stanford apparently and was the heir apparent if Shaw ever left.

He was certainly in the top tier of guys that Rice fans were interested in. Sounds like a great fit who has passed on other opportunities because he was looking for what he felt would be the right fit. Hopefully this means Rice University and Rice Athletics are committed to giving him the tools he needs to succeed.

Looks like a high quality hire. Also, if his offensive style at Stanford carries over to Rice, it will be a strong, physical running game.
