Then we go lose to W&M, as is tradition, and usually those posters go away.
We have no room to talk, we haven't won jack in this conference. Some of our posters are living in the past acting like we own the conference like we did with CAA. Even if we win back to back championships, that's still no way to talk on here. It's just mildly frustrating, especially when it always seems to come from ODU fans.
Just STAAHHP
Not wanting to get in the middle of an argument, but ...
1). What ODU fans have come on here and posted that ODU was God's team? Also, there have been lots of posters who represent fans of all of the teams in CUSA that have voiced their displeasure of the conference about one thing or another (i.e. conference leadership, TV package, officiating, tournament location, some schools lack of dedication to their athletic programs, scheduling, etc.).
2). Someone would have to be very new to following ODU basketball to think that ODU losing to William and Mary is "tradition". Prior to 5 or so years ago the "tradition" was that ODU got the win in those contest. As it stands, ODU still has a sizable advantage in the won/loss tally.
3). It is inaccurate to say that ODU hasn't won jack in this conference. ODU just won the conference soccer title and got the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. If ODU had never won a single game in any sport, or if they had won every title in every sport it doesn't matter. The same holds true for any other conference school. We are all in this deal together as a conference and should do whatever is within our means to make it stronger for our individual schools and for our conference as a whole. That includes discussing things as fans on these boards.
4). I 100% agree that people should not come on the boards telling other schools what they should or should not do, but that doesn't mean that the subject shouldn't even be discussed at all. The country is rapidly evolving into one where it is becoming so politically correct that if anyone says anything that even one radical individual can possibly take offense to, then they are shouted down because of it. Soon a guy won't even feel safe in telling a girl that she looks nice for fear of being accused of sexual harassment. Let's face it, everybody doesn't like something so that pretty much makes every topic or every statement objectionable to someone.
5). People like WKUYG have taken the time to post information that is both informative and sheds light on the subject. Kudos to people like him for taking that path instead of others that want to make many of the subjects into personal attacks instead of logical or opinionated discussions. And of course ... lighthearted fun, and friendly jabs are always accepted.
