I have been to Mobile and NOLA with A-State, several friends went to Orlando. I've also been to NOLA for the BCS and Orlando for the Citrus and Memphis for the Liberty
My opinion.
NOLA Bowl. I love New Orleans in small samples so it is nice to go but we don't register much since they will have multiple conventions with bigger impact.
NOLA for a huge bowl? Unreal experience from the Quarter to the Dome is a giant celebration of the game.
Orlando for Citrus? Even with Iowa and LSU fans in huge numbers, Disney/Universal/Sea World is the show and the game is just an attendance booster (may be different with Downtown Disney or whatever its called now).
Memphis. Few blocks of Beale were crazy with fans and of course fans are at Graceland and the other attractions.
Mobile is a great experience if you stay downtown. Whole downtown area is tuned in and all about the fans. Outside of downtown its a football road trip and nothing else.
I think with a good crowd Mobile gives you a scaled down experience similar to the BCS/NOLA experience. If USA and the city were to build a new joint stadium just north of downtown that was feasible to walk it would be an absolute kickass experience.
Heard glowing reports of how Mobile and Cure treated the players and coaches. NOLA has taken the stance that outside the concert they will let the city provide the entertainment and while there is merit to it, I don't think it captures "the bowl experience" as effectively.
EDIT
Forgot Shreveport
The casino and outlet mall thing by the river get filled with fans, nice experience community is in to it. Stadium being a far piece away and a bit raggedy is a downer but usually some really good tailgate events going on. Not a bad experience if you stick near the casinos.
