The only way to crack the P5, other than conference realignment, is to fill up stadiums and to bump up television ratings. It would help if we could sign deals with better bowls. Instead of playing MAC, MWC, Sun Belt, and CUSA teams, we should find bowls where we're only playing P5 schools.

Yup. It would be a huge deal to see some upgraded bowl line up in the next bowl cycle. Unfortunately, it will probably be easier to land a $10 million a team deal than to significantly upgrade our bowl line up. My guess is we see incremental improvement in our bowl line up. The real key for us is to land a legitimate anchor bowl for the AAC that could serve as the guaranteed post season destination for our champion (or runner up in years our chsmp claims the access bowl slot).

My guess is we will probably just add a couple of full ties to a pair of current G5 vs P5 bowls we have limited or no ties with (Ft Worth and Heart of Dallas). Getting a full time ACC opponent in St Pete is another possible incremental upgrade.

I have no idea when the Liberty Bowl's contract with the Big12-SEC runs out, but a lineup with either Big12 or SEC v. AAC champ or runnerup would be nice if we'd get better opponents than those conferences' dregs.
