Trumps own Attorney General testified under oath in front of Congress this week that there is no factual basis for appointing a special prosecutor and therefore appointing one would literally be an abuse of power.
Trumps own people are admitting all of this, yet here we are, having people discuss this topic like it's happening.
Trump, and his people are playing the game of magnanimous victor. That's how they play the game in Washington - laws violated or not.
Hell, they have a taxpayer slush fund for Congressional sexual harassment payoffs set up and running.........
The whole damn thing is set up so that those in power are not subject to the same laws as everyone else..... no?
Jesus, I cannot fathom the mental gymnastics you'd have to do be willing to do in order to describe Trump as a "magnanimous victor". The administrations first press conference started with a lie about the size of his inauguration crowd, he consistently lied about the size of his actual victory, lied about a former POTUS wiretapping him, and he's still tweeting about his political opponent deserving jail despite his own Attorney General stating under oath there is no factual basis for a special prosecutor. He is legitimately among the best examples of the opposite of a "magnanimous victor".
At some point the reality is it's far more likely that the things many of you here believe about Clinton either aren't true, or at the very least they're not able to be proven were criminal, and the GOP/Right-wing media/conspiracy theorists/etc are just pushing this because it helps with their ratings and voter turnout.

Bottom line, he hasn't gone after her in a serious legal sense. What he tweets is just words......
More than likely, they all have skeletons and all play the hush, hush game. Kind of like the US and Russia have played the game of mutual destruction with each other for the last 60 years.

They can't do it because, as Sessions admitted under oath and unambiguously, there is no factual basis for an investigation regardless of Trumps tweets.

you've mischaracterized what he said -- three times in the same thread. do you think that if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth?
sort of like, "if you like your plan, you can keep it"?

How have I mischaracterized this exchange?
And I quote:
Republican Congressman Jordan : "What it would take to get a special counsel”.
Jeffrey Session : “It would take a factual basis that meets the standards of the appointment of a special counsel."

you're not fooling anyone.
Oh, so now I didn't mischaracterize his answer, I just cherry picked that quote?
Well, that's easy enough to prove, just provide a quote from that day which contradicts what he said there.

FBI is corrupt.
Sure, every law enforcement agency is so corrupt that they refuse to investigate Clinton, even Trumps own attorney general is in on it! Thats a rational response.

actually, if you just look at what you've said in this thread, you've contradicted yourself. the quote you provided doesn't support the original statement you made.
but, no, once again, I'm not your web tutor.
I do know what sessions said regarding special investigators in his testimony on capitol hill several days ago. it's all out there on al gore's magical innerwebz, and it's easily accessible by the public. it's also not the crap you were peddling upstream in this thread.

So you can't provide a quote or defend your own assertions in anyway, yet you expect others to believe you're right? Seriously though, I'm totally sure you have tons of quotes proving me wrong, and in no way do you look entirely unable to defend your own statements. That is 100% what is happening here, yessir, you just don't want to post all this evidence. Totally believable!
Add it to the list as yet another example of you shirking away from any meaningful debate and discussion while loudly making statements you can't defend. It'd be sad if it wasn't so predictable.

It's not over
Nope, and if they find a factual basis to prosecute her for a crime she committed, have at it. But until then, and while Trumps own AG states under oath that there is literally no factual basis for a special prosecutor, you all look silly pushing this notion she's about to get locked up.

I guess you missed the part where Trumps own AG stated under oath there is not any factual basis for enacting such an investigation.

you apparently missed the news: ag sessions has said that he would absolutely, positively never name a special investigator for anyone named "hillary". ever.
then he cut the head off a chicken and spoke in tongues while dancing naked.

it's a fact.
Found any of those "many quotes" which contradicts the fact Trumps own sitting AG stated unambiguously, under oath and with the threat of perjury, that there is no "factual basis" for assigning a special prosecutor?
Nope, because you don't have one, and the fact is that'd be absolutely fine to admit. Being wrong isn't the worst thing in the world, I'd actually give you rep points for admitting the fault and you'd find that it would probably result in others taking you more seriously around here.
