Navy vs SMU Game Thread ...
Is Navy really going to blow this?

Led 34-11 at the half, now just 40-32 going in to the 4th quarter.

Can Navy get a final drive to win the game and have ZERO yards passing? Amazing, nearly 500 yards rushing and ZERO passing.

And Memphis wins the West, regardless of next week's game, IF we can beat ECU. I like our chances. 03-drunk

Of course, beat SMU, and it's over a week early.

Man, that was one exciting game. I watched it from start to finish. Too much to describe by typing.

Great game by both teams. Neither side gave up. LOTS of injuries, especially for SMU. That part, I never like. Hope they all recover.

Navy QB down and on crutches, too. So is their kicker from earlier.

Dude that kicked winning FG with no time left was his first kick ever.

Also, with Navy first and goal on SMU 9, Navy coach told Navy not to score TD, with 1:24 still left. Ran to 6 on first down. On 2nd down, Navy QB wide open running for TD and slid on the one, to kill more time, with SMU out of time outs. Stuffed on 3rd and one. But ran the time off the clock, then kicked FG on 4th down.

Would have been bad if that FG was blocked. Wow.

I really like this league. It's competitive and tough. The only reason to gripe is the lack of major conference money. That's a big gripe, but it wasn't for that I'd be happy the way things are.

In the early ’80s, Georgia beat Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl despite completing just one pass for 12 yards in the whole game. It wasn’t a TD but it did convert a huge third-down.

If I am correct, SMU & Wake were both "no pass" monsoon games. SMU '17 was a dry weather non completion game.

For the record, I wish they would have given Perry another shot to throw the ball. The first attempt just looked like a ball that slipped on a reload. I think he is a pretty good passer overall. We need to mix it up more or we will have no QB's left if we keep running them 30 times per game.
