RE: Bridgewater @ JMU hoops
If you like up-tempo style of hoops, just wait till Dec. 5 (Tue) when the Dukes travel to The Citadel. The Citadel plays one of those no-defense-whatsoever, jack-it-up-with-20-seconds-on-the-shot-clock kind of games. Entertaining? For some I guess. Older fartekers like me will think back to the late 80's and the days of Loyola Marymount (and HC Paul Westhead) who brought this unorthodox approach to the game - well, at least back in that time.
The Hokies defeated The Citadel in Blacksburg yesterday, 132-93. Hokies scored 66 in each half. The Citadel scored 47 in the 1H and 46 in the 2H. Consistency. LOL!

That style of play worked in the '80s for teams like the Lakers, who would run up ridiculous scores on offense and kneecap your mother on defense if that's what it took. And that was back when nobody was shooting threes, and you could hand check. Pat Riley knew how to coach it, but Westhead was never really successful with it over the long haul.
