I didn't say Vanover was gonna be the next Dirk. I'd settle for a solid 4 year college player.

Vanover will be so much more effective than our bigs right now....looking forward to next year.

But I totally understand your position. No one is happy with Tubby's recruiting at this point. It's crazy we only have one guy right now. Difference is you feel the need to try to marginalize this one guy, while others can be unhappy with the "class" while still seeing this kid could be a good commit.

Nobody is marginalizing him. Damien Wilson was #148; Vanover is #317. By any standard known to man, Vanover should not be expected to be a solid D1 contributor. He probably will be just because instead of playing 3-5 minutes per game most of his career, he is probably going to be starting for us his sophomore season. He will be able to impress because he will have the same opportunities that every player except Davenport, Brewton and Johnson will benefit from...not having any 4* players in front of them competing for playing time.

So boo hoo hoo that you feel sad that none of us are doing cartwheels over the fact that Vanover is not only our highest ranked recruit, but our only incoming recruit so far. In the last two years 85 schools have signed a top 150 recruit, 57 have signed more than one of them.

Frankly, your attitude, putting down people that see things rationally is strange to say the least. Posters state the facts, can see the facts for what they are as plain as day and you make weird statements about them somehow being wrong about seeing things that are obvious.

You just don't get it. Tubby has everything under control. He will wait until every school signs whoever they want and then will pounce on whoever is left then coach them up. The staff is BAM and will have us rolling and ready to make the tournament by 2021 or 2022.
