Penn State transfer CJ Johnson will be a likely starter at one of the corner spots. He was in the two deep in Happy Valley.
Yup, and I'd bet the other spot goes to one of Marquese Smith or Koby Bryant. If Arquon Bush is all he's being billed as, he'll push for time too.
I may be mistaken, but I thought I read somewhere that Koby was likely going to get a look at safety.
I think you're right. He is listed as a safety on the official roster.
I'm just saying, I would rather have a guy with experience on the field than rely on more guys without any...I think Bush is going to be special and Ward is going to be a good player as well, but they're still true freshman and neither enrolled early.
If Bush is anything like Josiah Scott was for Michigan St last year we're in good hands.. dude held his own in the 4 or 5 MSU games I watched and was third team all B1G as a frosh. As a recruit he was a .8462 according to 247.

The thing is, it is not just who you recruit and sign. It does not matter who you sign if they don't make it to campus, or don't stay once there. We have been moaning about the attrition of TT's recruits. I would like to see Luke held to a reasonably high standard.
Can't speak to your first comment but to the bolded comment, attrition happens in the offseason at every school in the country. Attrition is especially high in the first or second offseason following a coaching change.
Obviously there's specific reasons why players leave programs (head or position coach leaves school, lower on the depth chart than expected, injury, not a right fit at the school in general, etc.) but a small amount of attrition is a fact of life in college football.

Agreed and often it is for the better for both the player and the program. In the case of Jaelen Greene, he would have been lost in the depth at the RB position. He now as the opportunity to go to another school where he'll get a better chance to play. UC will be able to give a scholarship to a deserving walk-on, or use it later towards a transfer (assuming they are within the 85 scholarship limit).

Tyrone Sampson just signed with Fresno State. Pretty much everyone thinks there has to be more to this story.

Yeah, I figured he and JaQuerious Smith both decommitted from Syracuse due to being non-qualifiers.

Mr. Smith, ended up at Purdue, so it would appear something else was his deal. Either that or Purdue just say, 'f**k it' and rolled the dice for what appears to be a quality recruit.

Really? Wow. Smith was the one rumored to be in worse shape academically. Good for him. UC sure seemed to run away from him for some reason.

So how many scholarships does UC have left? Would love to spend one on a grad transfer QB.

Yep. I thought the same.
I may be off but come to think of it I seem to recall whispers of some off the field stuff for Sampson. Don't quote me on that though. There was some revelation about him and we took a pass

UC Strength and Conditioning has put out some photos of Malik Vann and Ben Bryant. Bryant is up to 205 already.

Good...he was kind of lanky for his frame. I would think 215-225 would probably be the goal given how much we run our QBs

anyone else see that Dante Booker was slated to transfer to Uc. The report only lasted about an hour, but I wonder what happened there.

I googled him - look like he's staying in Columbus.

dude let the young man be great. Why would you want this kid to FAIL?
Brents was arrested over the weekend for theft.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A traffic stop led to the arrest of a top University of Louisville football recruit Wednesday morning, according to court documents.
An arrest report states that 18-year-old Jairus Brents was taken into custody. Police say he was seen driving over 30 miles above the speed limit on I-264. He had no driver's license, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Court documents show Brents was wanted after he failed to appear for a March 5 court hearing on a misdemeanor charge of theft. Police say he was cited on Jan. 26 after he and an unnamed accomplice shoplifted $32 worth of tank tops and boxers at the JCPenney store in the St. Matthews Mall.
In October, he was also cited for driving without a license and speeding when he allegedly drove 43 mph in a 25 mph school zone on Zorn Avenue, near Riedling Drive, according to arrest reports.
Brents was arrested at the traffic stop Wednesday morning, but has since been released.
A spokesman for the University of Louisville Athletics Department confirms that Brents is a recruit for the University of Louisville football team. Brents, a football player at Waggener High School, played defensive back and receiver and quarterback, on offense.

Was he caught riding away from the scene on the back of Bobby Petrino's motorcycle?
