Embry-Riddle exhibition
54-19 2 minutes to go in the first half... Diarra got some minutes, only other thing I can gather is we're really long and challenge everything. Also really good ball movement.

RE: Embry-Riddle exhibition
It looks like Jarron Cumberland made 27 points in just 26 minutes. He was the hero today, based on the stats from GoBearcats. Many of our other assumed starters didn't seem to impress in the points column though... Cane played for about half the game and only made 2 points.
I know it's only exhibition, so it doesn't mean a lot. If today's game IS actually representative of our players' abilities, then Justin Jennifer, Eli Nsoseme, and Keith Williams could potentially start some games this year.
Unfortunately, our first opportunity to see what these guys can do is against Xavier on 12/2. If anyone that was actually at the game has any insight to provide, that would be great. I'm just going off the limited stats from online.

Cumberland got yanked for Moore after the first possession for some discretion, I couldn't tell what. After he got back in the game he was money.

Don't worry about the stat sheet, team is very solid. Freshman can play, they will get some minutes this year. Tre Scott has a little Justin Jackson crazy in him, I like that. Cumberland will lead the team in scoring if I had to guess. Legit final 4 contender in my eyes.

Evans didn't look to attack much again today. He did try to commit homicide on the rim once though.
Broome had some nice dishes but also tried to force a few that weren't there.
Moore and Williams will be able to give serviceable minutes this year.
Halftime seemed to kill momentum and we came out sloppy in the 2nd half. Missed quite a few putbacks as well throughout the game.

Left at halftime. Looks like they played even with us for the 2nd half. Need these guys to develop the killer instinct.
Cumberland looks smooth, he has to be our best pure offensive player on the team. Teams like this can't match him physically.

Kind of concerned about the second half, seems like they traded basket for basket-don't want to lose the killer instinct regardless of opponent. I plan on going to Fridays game against Savannah State, not really sure how big of a jump it will be in competition, though.

He hasn't been shooting much at all this preseason.
like 3 shots these two exhibition games. I look forward to seeing where he is, when he is given the green light. Cumberland is beastly in his own right, with the second team getting burn early, I suspect this will be an exciting season. Doubly so with what we've gone through in football

RE: Embry-Riddle exhibition
I was there from start to finish. I really like our freshmen, particularly Keith Williams. The guy is a smooth athlete and really looks to attack the rim, was throwing down some nasty dunks in warmups. The freshmen big guys are surprising skilled, particularly Elie with the left hand around the basket- Diarra had some nice passes and hit a 3. Both guys are long and athletic. Moore had an off night shooting the ball, but if he starts hitting like advertised watch out. They all look like they could see some minutes but wouldn’t be surprised to see Diarra get red-shirted.
Jenifer may be the best option at pg right now. Not that Broome is bad, but didn’t seem to be as comfortable out there. He had one nice drive and pump-fake-step-through move in the lane for a layup, and a few nice passes, but he also threw the ball away several times and missed some boxouts on defense. Jenifer had several nice drives to the basket and several nice passes. He looks a little more polished in our offense at this point. But I feel we can be successful with either guy. Both guys will be on a short leash as Mick subbed them out constantly after bad decisions.
Jacob Evans played a nice game although he wasn’t super aggressive. He really shines on the defensive end with his athletic ability. He had one really nasty block on a guy that was trying to drive past him, and several tough defensive rebounds. He is more of a guy that lets the game come to him instead of trying to force it. I think that is completely okay, because starting opposite of him is Cumberland. The dude was awesome on offense today and was hitting shots all over the floor. Contested, open, fast breaks, 3’s...when he is in rhythm he is going to be tough to stop. Look for a break-out sophomore campaign from this guy. Mick pulled him out early for allowing a guy to grab a rebound when he didnt box out, but when he came back in he was focused and aggresive.
Washington and Clark were as advertised. We know what we are getting there. Brooks was pretty solid although he missed a few shots at the rim. Scott played pretty well but I think he takes too many shots. He needs to be the 4th or 5th option when he is out there.
Overall the team played pretty well the first half. In the second half, the slacked a bit on defense and EB was running a 4 guard lineup with some guys who were pretty quick to get into the lane for layups. They also loosened up and hit A few 3’s. Bet Mick was pretty ticked with the defensive effort in the second half. I would guess by midseason the defense will be ratched up to peak performance, but they do need to protect the rim better.
One thing I noticed was that the team did APPEAR to play a lot faster. Guards and wings were pushing the ball up the floor and throwing the ball ahead for easy baskets. Whether this effort will be sustained remains to be seen. Both PG’s are sprinting the ball into the front court, and we have plenty of guys that attack the rim in transition.
With the faster pace there was also more turnovers. I didnt see the stat sheet but seemed like there was about 20. Lots of them unforced. That’s not typical Bearcat basketball, and I believe there will need to be a bit of give and take on Mick’s part. I say he should swallow his pride and let em play, but we will see.
Overall I am excited for this season!

I left at the 2nd to last official's timeout around the 6:00 mark. It was men against boys.

Embry-Riddle exhibition
They looked really good, but got sloppy at times once they tried to do too much and get too cute. They pressed and ran the whole game and even the bigs were running hard.
Passed the ball well and got a ton of open looks.
Freshmen looked good. Williams is silky smooth driving and Moore missed a few wide open threes that likely will fall more often than not. Diarra probably red shirts, but he made a 3 and had a nimble driving jumper. He needs to slow down and think he could really be nice.
They also had some nice motion on offense with the 4 guys moving a lot and it seemed often the defense lost at Least 1 player who would break off completely wide open. Definitely looks more active, but still looking to get into post and back out.

Hey, I don't control todays vernacular! At least "burn" is an actual word, which is much more than I can say for "Bruh". Or the stupid people who want to call the pound sign a "hashtag" or an incomplete program an "app". And don't even get me started on clothes. Kids going in a few short years from wearing baggy, frumpy, jeans that sagged and showed their asses, to tight legged, thigh hugging, yeast infection causing, skinny jeans that no male should ever wear. In my day, we used to tie an onion around our belts... and something something something.
But yeah, I'm glad the bench will have the opportunity to gain experience and seems to be made of fairly talented basketball players, as opposed to pure athletes that haven't natural skill on their side.
