Before the season, I think we all reflexively penciled in W's for the MAC East opponents, none of which were bowl teams last season. We had 2 of 3 at home. Any blemishes would come at the hands of our P5 opponents and tough MAC West teams.

But few things happen as expected. We're three days removed from Akron now, the shock has long worn off. So now it's time to hope for an upset at EMU (I know we are Vegas line 'favorites'. But it's carryover perception from last year among bettors and a misconception of EMU's 2-4 record).

I'm not convinced that it is a 'misconception' of their record. Maybe what Vegas sees in EMU is a team that can't win the close games. They call this one close but pick us to win it because EMU has yet to prove that they can get over the hump. In any case, the line will move as game time gets closer. Let's see where the money is coming down.

EMU is certainly investing in this game with the belief that they are the favorites. 4 tickets for the price of 2 cheap tickets. They want a packed house on their homecoming to witness a changing of the guard. They want a full house to see them beat the reigning MAC Champs and Cotton Bowl participants.

Come on Broncos. Let's Ride.
