45 seconds left and still 14-13. Sounds like WMU dodged a bullet on a potential running into kicker call - or personal file. They picked the flag up.

Akron is not that great..... WMU shot themselves in the foot multiple times in this game. The Broncos gave that game to Akron.

I only caught about 3/4 of the 2nd half. Akron did not look all that impressive from what I saw. Guess the Bronco's are not mudders.

I like our chances but wow... It may end up that the entire conference looks bad with 7-5 type records and we get no respect.

I believe we’d have to have a really awful day in order to lose to Akron...

I sure hope the Rockets don't look past Akron. I remember a bad Zips team taking us out of the Bowl conversation not too many seasons ago, and this is a better Akron team than that one. As several of us have said on this Board, given the injuries there isn't an "easy" game left. The weather made the CMU game a bit harder to interpret, but there were certainly some good things during it--keep building on them!

Did you see the game on TV somewhere - or was that a figure of speech from listening to the game and seeing the box score?

Shocker real or shocker sarcastic? WMU didn't have a chance to win in that weather against a team named after galoshes.

Kudos to Akron. They are recruiting one of the most fertile grounds in the country: Akron. I'd be surprised if any other D1 university has a higher percentage of players from the city in which they are located, let alone on a per capita basis. As we've seen, grabbing that local, under recruited kid who is motivated, maybe still a bit underdeveloped and giving them four years can raise the average. Get a few more high end kids from where ever recruiting connections are solid and that can make for a good team. A long time coach. Seems a good strategy.

We got pretty lucky at the Buffalo marathon. Then took a dump vs. Akron. Could've easily been 0-2 against the MAC East's midpack. Our team feels more dysfunctional than the otherwise "OK" 4-3 record would indicate. I don't know how we'd be able to beat you, NIU or EMU.

Sure I hope the team isn’t overlooking the Zips and yes they could beat us but it would take a bad game from Woodside combined with a horrible defensive performance which has progressed since week 1 to lose. Yes, it could happen but everything would have to go right for Akron for that to happen

20 players from Akron and 30 from Florida.

Shocker real. I wouldn't have thought Akron would be able to take out the defending MAC champs, especially at WMU. This Saturday might be closer than we'd all like it to be...or the Rockets will carry on this momentum and take care of business right from the get go.

Those are interesting numbers. I'd love to have 20 players from Toledo on our roster. How many players are there in Florida?? Because we always have a decent amount of them too (not close to 30 but still good amount).

Akron stunted the WMU run game which means they could slow us down... but I just don't think they have the defensive horses to stop us consistently. We have a solid passing D that has learned to create turnovers. We should win by 10 or more.

Counted 13 from Toledo area, included places like Napoleon, Rossford, Maumee, etc.
10 from Florida.
