To me, this is like trying to get a restroom for the transgenders, trying to do something to appease a small percentage of the population. And it does mess with the mechanics of the weapon, you have to change parts to make it work. The Marine in me still doesn't see a benefit for this. The only reason we would use this in the Marines, is for suppression fire. We aren't even allowed to have our M16 in 3 round bursts because it wastes ammo, another reason why the M16s aren't fully automatic. Just my 2 cents.
It helps disabled people because they are now able to use their entire arm to trigger the weapon instead of just one finger.

Same here for no other reason than they are a blatant work-around of the automatic ban. I think most of us have no problem with automatics being banned for sale to the public. These stocks pretty much makes the AR and AK platforms full auto.
Banning any weapon or modification kit is not going to stop a dedicated shooter from killing people. I honestly don't believe there is a solution to these killings beyond the public being armed and stopping someone in situations where range and opportunity present itself. I don't see anything that could have been done to stop Paddock.
Kap has posted a video and your finger by itself does the same thing as a bump stock. Can't be banning everyones fingers because they are a work around and turn a semi into an auto.
My problem with the bump stock is that it makes a semi auto...auto. Therefore should fall under that same ban if we are going to be consistent in our application of the law. Nothing IMO can be done about someone firing a unaltered semi auto weapon as shown above outside of banning the weapon. That ain't gonna happen.
No it doesn't. It does the exact same thing as shown in the video above that has no bump stock.
