Ball St had half their starters out against WMU after playing WKU the previous week. We took out their entire starting WR corp, and another one of their running backs. Plus a few other key players got dinged up against us as well.

THey had same QB vs. us as well as same 2 RB's played vs. WMU, Dunner and Huntley....Looks like their slot WR was out but the guy that torched us played and had 13 catches for 121 yards...I know its not an exact science to compare scores, but this past week did nothing to feel great about what we have...If our OL continues to have problems, White will not make it to end of the season and then we will be really screwed...

WKU also got destroyed by LaTech a few years ago 59-10..... games like that happen to ever team , even ones that win conference championships

And that WKU team beat then undefeated and ranked Marshall (who beat LaTech for the CUSA title).

Tech had 6 Defensive starters suspended for the Marshall game

1. UTSA
No game means no win, no loss and no reasonable argument for moving them. You no? I mean know? The Southern Miss game will tell us things.

2. Louisiana Tech
The Bulldogs continued Cardinal Direction Schoolapalooza '17 with an easy win against South Alabama. For the record: 1-1 against South-named schools, 1.5-0 against West, 0.5-0 against North (try as you might, you only get credit for the one win against Northwestern Louisiana). Southern Miss and North Texas beckon. Eastern schools appear off the menu this season.

3. Marshall
Everyone loves Marshall these days. Just remember that this guy liked them before they were cool *rushes to post tamagotchi photos on his MySpace page*

4. North Texas
Everyone loves Marshall these days. Just remember that this guy ... no, he had them pretty low too. Now he wants Middle Tennessee to make a miracle turnaround and lose to NT in the title game so we can use "Kermit: It Ain't Easy Beating Green" as the thread title.

5. Florida Atlantic
The Owls are no stranger to top-five rankings ... wait, we're not counting ESPN's Bottom 10? But credit where it's due, last week's win against Middle Tennessee was a real headline grabber, and should put some much-desired shine on the program ... wait, what's this about Nebraska holding a press conference ... and why was Lane juggling three ears of corn in the fourth quarter?

6. Western Kentucky
Hilltoppers remain sixth. Big Red remains big and red.

7. Southern Miss
The Golden Eagles helped send the West race into disarray with their loss to North Texas. They can make up for it by beating UTSA and putting it in double-secret disarray.

8. Middle Tennessee
A lot of people have lost a lot of faith in the Blue Raiders. The fan of the school that has lost everything from football to basketball to its virginity to them will hold back on the Armageddon talk for now.

9. UAB
The Blazers were off last weekend, but the sports information department was working overtime to assure worried fans that Ray Watts didn't disband the program again.

10. Old Dominion
The best-in-the-nation defensive line dominated this past week, but Justin Timberlake's late field goal kept Bye Bye-Byes from being the Monarchs' first shutout victim.

11. FIU
You hate to put a 3-1 team this far down in the rankings, until you realize that wins came against teams that are so weak that John Cena's going to visit them soon. A win against Middle Tennessee doesn't mean quite as much as it used to, but it'd be a big step toward respectability and bowl ... ability.

12. Rice
The Owls have a win. In this neighborhood, that's like having a gold-plated Porsche.

13. Charlotte
The 49ers avoid the return of their hyphen by playing respectably against a not-horrible CUSA team. In this neighborhood, that's like having a well-maintained, gently used Buick.

14. UTEP
The Miners had a lead against Army. In this neighborhood, that's still not enough to save the coach's job.
