1. La Tech - Seems to be pretty steady
2. Marshall - Rising fast. Herd seems to have their mojo back.
3. WKU - I'm telling you folks, don't forget about WKU
4. UTSA - We'll learn a lot about the Road Runners the next 2 weeks
5. UNT - Just wow! Two weeks to prepare for UTSA. Look out Runners!

6. USM - Eagles get chance for redemption this week against UTSA
7. FAU - Big win over MTSU yesterday. Another fast riser?
8. UAB - Blazers have chance to make big noise this week against LA Tech at Homecoming

9. ODU - Don't now much about these guys this year
10. FIU - A 3-1 start against soft schedule makes you wonder
11. MT (w/o Stock) - Rocky start for MTSU in 2017
12. Rice - The Owls are probably the most mysterious CUSA team to date

13. UTEP - We're all waiting for Kugler to go
14. Charlotte - Please remind me why Charlotte is here?

Regarding Charlotte, to answer your question...the power of markets!

Yeah man, I thought they would be further along than where they are now. It's gonna be a super ugly game in Charlotte this weekend.

In hindsight, would have been better inviting Appy State.

Based on how they've played their past games and their strength of schedule. UNT beat USM last night, but narrowly escaped a UAB team that hasn't beaten anyone good this year.

UNT beat USM by 15 points. Go buy yourself a clue. 07-coffee3

Lol, UNT has a better win, better losses, won the head to head...on the road at that, and better schedule.

How do you have North Texas below my Eagles when they just destroyed us on our home field? Did you not even check the scores?

Glad to see Marshall considered one of the top CUSA teams, but really sorry it's more due to decline of other programs. I really hoped Charlotte had turned a corner last year, but it doesn't look that way. MTSU should have had a backup QB capable of stepping up given the past couple of successful years, but it looks like their team was built around the injured Stockstill. Here's hoping better days ahead for all our conference mates.

RE: CUSAbbs October Football Poll
Kind of surprised to see everyone have ODU much lower than I thought they'd be. At 2-2 we are right where we predicted to be, won the games we were supposed to win and lose the games we were supposed to lose. Hoping it's all a product of CUSA being really good. I suppose I will find out where I think we should be when I think about my ranks tonight and tomorrow morning.

One can lose the games they are supposed to lose or one can get blown the f**k out in those games. There's a difference. Truthfully, I do not know how good/bad ODU is. Do you?

ODU has an OOC schedule that a lot of CUSA teams envy, but it is one of the tougher ones in the conference so it's hard to come out of that 3 -1 nearly impossible 4 - 0. Probably good to keep that kind of schedule and build to 4 - 0 than dumbing down just to start out 4 - 0. I still see ODU getting bowl eligible this year.

FIU has needed a miss FG to beat a team that lost to an FCS school and was shut out by GSU. They might not win again this year

So, switch us with FIU in my rankings. Effect will be marginal. I give the largest credence to record, I believe a win is a win. I am absolutely certain, though, that at the end of the regular season we will be far ahead of FIU as we, seemingly, are a better team.
If Kiffin started Paar and not Driskel, I could see us at around #5.

How so? Driskel has a higher completion percentage and can do other things, such as running with the ball, blocking, and seems to have a better knowledge of the play book. Parr has a better down the field throw but even that has not been a major weapon for FAU this season.

And who the heck has FIU beaten??? One of your wins wouldn't have even happened if it wasn't for UAB letting your team play at Legion Field.

What respectable high school QB looked at MT where the coaches son who lit up everyone for 4000+ yards as freshman thought to himself...hey I need to go there and see if I can beat that kid out. That wouldn't even happen at Alabama or Ohio St I'm thinking.

It is what it is. But it's damn sure a reason why Tony Franklin never should have been dialing up QB draws in the first place. That play should have been eliminated from the playbook (especially since we know Brent is not sliding).

It looks like we have some decent QB commits coming in next year here on the backside of Brent's career.
