While accounting for 56% of the overall growth in the university system.
Chancellor Dubois recently told alums that the university was within 500 students of passing UNC Chapel Hill.
Quick breakdown (date of enrollment figures, all taken from school websites):
1. NCSU - 32,113 ("Spring 2017")
2. UNC Chapel Hill - 29,469 ("May 2017")
3. UNC Charlotte - "29,000+" ("Spring 2017")
4. ECU - 28,962 ("Fall 2016" - I couldn't find 2017 #s)
All of the above are part of the 17 school UNC system(also includes App State).
I'm glad that the school hasn't sacrificed its admissions profile to grow. It's still very respectable within the system.
Charlotte's class of 2021 had average HS gpas of 3.41 for men and 3.92 for women; 25 average ACT, and 1225 SAT (610 / 615). Comparatively, here are the other schools on that list:
UNCCH - 3.73 / 4.30; 29; 1353 (682 / 671)
NCSU - 3.61 / 4.17; 27; 1300 (656 / 644)
UNCC - 3.41 / 3.92; 25; 1225 (610 / 615)
ECU - 3.37 / 3.92; 24; 1131 (569 / 562)
Just a reminder to all of us guys trash talking each other - the ladies pull all of those numbers up a good deal. Especially the GPAs.
