Quote:Miami v CMU currently has the Chips at a 2 point favorite. Even at home that seems odd to pick CMU.
Miami-OH's heartbroken over the crazy ending against Cinci at home last week, losing it in the end. Then going on the road to CMU. It affects teams, that's why they're not favored.
Quote: Ohio v EMU should be a very interesting game. Will be a test for the Hurons, who are at home, and are favored by 2.
Yeah, that game could go either way. Ohio hasn't been very impressive, but it's the beginning of the season. EMU wasn't impressive in their opener against a team throwing picks to give them a sizeable distance on the scoreboard... but EMU beat Rutgers & Ohio beat Kansas. The Pepsi Cans will have a true test that game. Flip a coin, IMO.
Quote:Toledo is at Miami (Fl), and the Canes are favored by 13. This is one of those games that the Rockets could put a scare in, and maybe pull an upset. They have the offense. Will be one I will try to watch.
Yeah, in some ways, it has MAC Upset written all over it. Maybe hyped a bit too much. Toledo doesn't have a suffocating D, although Tulsa's a team that's supposed to put up points. If Toledo had a good D with their O, I'd say an upset coming with Miami-FL only playing 1 game due to the hurricanes. But, the hurricanes are their mascot, and Toledo's D is not impressive. I think Toledo has a Good chance at beating the spread, being able to score on what their D gives up, but fall short -- unless Miami-FL turns it over a lot being rusty.
Quote:Need the Canes to blow out Toledo. Could come back to help us if in November were are in contention for post season fodder.
With 2L, it'd take quite a historical feat for us to be in the BCS bowl discussion. Don't even think about it at this point. It'd require the AAC to beat up on each other like last year, but even more... and MSU who went 3-9, to win the B1G + USC to win the P12... and Toledo TO BEAT MIAMI-FL... while NIU to beat SDSU (and SDSU & Boise to trade blows and each lose a conference game). Stuff like that. Ain't going to happen. No more than EMU going undefeated.
But Toledo beating Miami-FL makes our conference champ LOOK GOOD, no matter who they are. Just as NIU beating SDSU would too, and beating Nebraska Did. WMU & Toledo almost made our conference look bad on Saturday night after EMU, Ohio, and NIU each beat P5s. Thankfully, that came thru. If Miami-OH didn't screw up at the end (refs helped on that, I hear) to lose last minutes over Cinci -- that would have been one of the best MAC weeks.
