WHEN IT WAS DETERMINED THAT WE WERE OUT OF WATER, LB MANAGEMENT INSTRUCTED US TO GIVE ICE AND WATER IN CUPS TO FANS FOR FREE.
IN ADDITION, PEOPLE STARTED HOARDING BOTTLES OF WATER EARLY IN THE GAME. I HAVE NEVER SEEN PEOPLE PURCHASE 6 OR 7 BOTTLES OF WATER AT ONE TIME EVER BEFORE.

THIS WASN'T THE HOTTEST GAME IN MEMPHIS HISTORY. I HAVE BEEN VOLUNTEERING FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS.
YES, I THINK LB MANAGEMENT DID A POOR JOB. HOWEVER, THEY TRIED TO MAKE IT RIGHT.

ALL OF THESE DAMN PEOPLE WHO CAN'T DRINK ANYTHING BUT BOTTLED WATER NEED TO GET A LIFE. THAT CUP OF ICE WITH TAP WATER FROM OUR STAND GOT NO COMPLAINTS.

WE WILL ***** ABOUT ANYTHING.

Again, I thought all-in-all it was a great day. I had no traffic issues driving, walking, getting through gates.

The water was an issue, though. And I did get charged $4 for a cup of ice after they ran out just before halftime.

And I don't buy the hurricane shortage theory. They should of had a surplus from stocking up for ULM and the SHC, plus this game. And if they did have a shortage, they should of compensated with other drinks like gatorade or lemonade. At the very least, should of had more soft drinks. But they ran out of all.

Hottest game I ever sat through was Miss St. for the home opener in '11. And Tiger Lane had zero shade.

I was at that Miss St. game and, YES, it was the hottest game i have ever been to. It was brutal. But Saturday was unusual, the temp wasn't that high but it was crazy humid. It was rough.

The Duke game a few years back was mighty warm.

IF that is the case, I give a slight pass on the water situation. They should've changed things up, like allowing people to bring water from outside. Even changing that policy 24 hours in advance could've made a HUGE difference.

The lines is a totally different matter. We went into the stadium around 10:15 and breezed in, so some is on fans waiting until the last minute. But, MOST is on them. It needs to be much better handled.

The get their water from Coke,

Just like I thought , the only thing I'm hearing from UCLA fans as I fly home is the story of the unbearable heat. One guy said, ' I think you have to be raised there to be able to stand it.' Lol

It was unseasonably cooler than normal for about 3 weeks leading up to the game, talking highs in the 70's to low 80's, lows in 50's for several nights, crazy stuff for August and September in Memphis. Probably made a little harder even for some locals as just hasn't been that hot recently.

It was the humidity they were feeling. It wasn't nearly as hot as it could have been. 03-lmfao

Well, I was charged $4 for a cup of ice, about the time I was beginning to hallucinate and feel faint at the same time.

Concession workers were, in fact, instructed to give cups of ice for free. However, some concession workers decided to charge for it and pocket the money.

You would rather hallucinate than drink free water from a fountain.

WOW.

Just make sure you never visit the kitchen at most restaurants.

Yeah that was hot. Probably hotter than this one. But I don't believe they ran out of water, so that makes a difference.

There was also a hot UTK game - maybe early 90's. I got cooked at that one.

I paid $1 extra for some ice to pour a Coke over. Would've paid $10 if need be rather than go back to my wife empty handed.

Calling BS on concession workers pocketing the cash. 90% of fans at games have video capabilities on their phones. If concession workers were doing this, fans would have recorded it, and we would have seen it by now.

Shoot, the home opener vs. MSU in 2000. It was 100 degrees at kickoff.

This past Saturday it was 84 at kickoff and 88 at the end of the game. Highest heat index was 92.1 degrees.

In 2000, it was 100 degrees at kickoff and 97 at the end of the game. Highest heat index was 103 degrees.

I see the Memphis City Council Pres jumped on Spectra (the LB mgmt co) pretty hard yesterday for several LB related problems, thinking out loud that the Park Commission could do a better job & cheaper. Mentioned water & elevators that didn't work specifically.
