The move up of many FCS programs has weakened those left in FCS outside of maybe 10 programs or less. JMU will walk through the CAA this year. Houston's biggest challenge will be keeping his team sharp against such weak competition. JMU is in a class of maybe one or two. Them and the winner of the MVC.

"Walk through the CAA"? I drink my fair share of purple koolaid, but nobody "walks thru" the CAA. This kind of hubris is what leads to unexpected and unwelcome wake-up games. Hopefully MH and the team aren't thinking like you right now.

Sorry LH. This years version of the Dukes is the best team to ever don the purple and gold. If we have major injuries then things can change, but if we stay healthy, the Dukes will go 8-0 and few if any of the games will be close. The CAA isn't what it was 10 years ago and JMU is better. While the CAA is still among the best FCS leagues in the country, the teams in it can't compete with a healthy JMU. This is my belief. Time will tell if I am right.

I'm on record predicting JMU will go 15-0, so please save your lecture for someone else. While I agree with your thought that this particular JMU FB team may be the best in the program's history that's where we part ways. The CAA is not appreciably weaker in FB than it was 10 years ago, indeed it may even be stronger. JMU will not cakewalk its way to a conference title. While I have predicted JMU won't lose a game this season, there will be league contests where the final scores are much closer than your comments might suggest, and if the ball bounces in a funny manner, JMU could suffer a loss (or two) even if JMU is healthy.

Just to be clear, by my sharing that the outcomes of some JMU games will be "much closer" I'm also implying that other CAA FB teams can and will compete with this talented JMU team. While I admire your enthusiasm for our FB team's talent (including the coaching and support staff), your hubris about JMU's superiority over other CAA programs appears to be fueled by mass consumption of alcoholic beverages. 04-cheers

Not sure what Longhorn has been watching the last ten games we have played. Our talent level and depth is considerably better than every CAA team as well as all other 1-aa schools. Not to mention our coaching is second to none. Once we get the penalty situation cleaned up the sky is the limit for this years squad.

Not sure if you can read (see my highlighted comments above). I've simply pointed out the fact the better CAA teams (and teams JMU will face in the post-season) have the talent to compete and defeat JMU if the good guys have an off day, and hubris and overconfidence will make losing harder to swallow. Personally, I'd love nothing better than to experience a season of consecutive blowouts, however, I expect some games to be a real challenge if the Dukes are to come away with the W.

yessss, sweet drunk sweater vest at 1:27

huge party atmosphere, move over Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi!

Are we sure that drunk old man wasn't professional drunk SOB & former RU AD Jim Miller?
Age and gravitational pulls can have a significant impact on us. Well, that and lots of bourbon. That sweater vest was a former WR there. Good guy. Of course, spatters still suck.
