RE: Louisiana- Monroe Warhawks
I had a long winded post prepared about the differences between USM and ULM and how much I dislike them as a program, but I deleted it. Instead, I'll just say good luck and I hope you win out starting Sunday.

What's your beef with them?

Waste of space in D1. Have contributed nothing and continue to drain resources from schools that are actually trying to improve.

Isn't this the same elitist view the P5 has of all G5, CUSA, and Southern Miss??

ULM scored 2 TD's in last 13 minutes to make it closer. Memphis had two RB's go for over 131 yds. Henderson 12-169 2TD's and Taylor 15-131-1 TD in a monsoon. ULM turned the ball over 4 times, 1 int. lost 3 of 6 fumbles. Memphis had 1 turnover on fumble. Memphis had 27 players on defense that registered some kind of play i.e. tackle, assist, int., fumble recovery, td etc. Not saying this is gonna be a blowout but we can't really garner much about ULM on the score of the Memphis game and how "close" it was. I mean ULM had a time of possession margin of 37+ minutes to 22+ minutes and out gained Memphis by only 9 yds. Memphis ran for 319 yds. averaging 8.2 yds. per carry. Stats like those will make your head hurt.
I'm sure ULM fans would argue that the turnover discrepancy was the difference in the game, and that the weather favored Memphis.
Either way, I'm expecting a battle in Monroe Saturday night and hoping the Golden Eagles play well enough to come away with the W.

TTT is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma, that can rear it's ugly head at anytime, any sport, anywhere.

And can never be predicted. We beat Kentucky to start the season and....bingo bango.....we lose this game. We are not set up to feel the wrath of TTT just yet. It may (and probably will) show its ugly backside this year but not just yet.

We do not have similar talent. We have superior talent.
I can see us winning this game by 30 points - and its not bc we had an extra game or have similar talent.
*so its not just the La Tech fans that are delusional. Must be north louisiana in general.

Some La Tech fans on this board say we haven't proven anything so far because our close loss to UK was against a "bottom dweller" SEC team. Well, we may not have proven anything 'cept we have a decent starting QB now (Yes...so far I have been completely wrong about Howard...he would make a heck of a TE or big-sized RB) but their complete collapse against another SEC bottom dweller proves their optimism about 2017 was DELUSIONAL!

Or maybe you are the delusional one. I've been nothing but respectable and even picked you guys to win. Guess we can agree to disagree and see what happens Saturday night. I do want to add that I have very much enjoyed my discussions with Eagle fans on several sites and the majority have been very respectful and courteous. Maybe you guys do win by 30, but I would be surprised.

And you think we aren't trying to improve. We have wins over Saban led Alabama, #8 Arkansas, Miss St., Wake Forest twice, and Kentucky. We haven't set the world on fire, but have had our moments and are headed in the right direction. Viator was a great hire that is already paying off with the top rated recruiting class in the SBC according to Rivals.

Our fans are a little cranky .... we've had a rough go of it since Fedora left. Looks like you guys are headed in the right direction with Viator. I expect a competitive game on Saturday night.

Arrowhead,
Can you post a link to ULM's discussion board. I would like to read more about your team and what is being said.

Thanks for posting. I wish we could make this game, but I have to attend a wedding. It should be a good game. Neither team knows what the other has. We barely lost to Kentucky, but I also don't think Kentucky will win more than 4 games this year. Y'all lost a tight game to a good Memphis team in the rain.
