In all seriousness, I can't imagine that anyone doesn't know this. It is such a basic concept that being ignorant of the 3 branches implies a total lack of education.

Since approximately 58% of eligible voters voted in the 2016 Presidential election, that could mean that half the voters didn't know what they were voting for. (OK I realize that is extreme, but you get my point.)

Our current president seems to prove your theory correct.

Viruses have never been considered alive in my 30 years of education. They didn't qualify, but this workshop I had made me question that. Educated people in the subject would point blank say no because of the indoctrination. Group think. When I get time I'm going to post about my first three weeks. It's been fascinating.

Total game changer for me and how I viewed science. Do you know how they came up with the scientific method? In the 50's text book publishers surveyed scientist and asked them how they went about doing their job. They received all this feedback and put it into a linear form. Like following a recipe out of a cookbook. That's how I was taught. The reality is so far from that. Science doesn't follow cookbook guidelines. Discovery surely doesn't. The topic deserves its own thread. I share my first two weeks with the spin room and how it has changed me as a teacher.

The scientific method is much older than the 50s...

That's correct, right?

I'm pretty sure it's:

The trouble we have now is just the start.

Unfortunately I fear this is pretty spot on.

There's some good ones out there, no doubt, but it seems the chasm between those engaged and who actually give a schit and those completely detached grows by the day.
