That begs the question though... Why the hell dont y'all have a football team?
Likely because the vast majority of UTA students are commuters who don't take part in any sort of traditional student life or activities, combined with the other entertainment options available in the Arlington area. At UNT, we have a decent number of commuters as well, but we have far less than UTA and we're also a bit segregated from the rest of the DFW area. I think that is the difference between schools like UNT and Texas State, vs UTA.
in the Fall of 2016 UTA had 7,071 available beds on campus with 6,946 occupied
2,716 were private and 4,355 were university owned
1,282 private beds were under construction and 536 university owned beds were under construction
500 university owned beds were planned for construction in 2017 and 77 university owned beds were to be removed in 2017
in the Fall of 2016 north Texas state had 6,208 beds on campus with 6,208 occupied and 500 university owned beds were planned for construction in 2017
so UTA has 863 more beds on campus and 738 more students living on campus
and UTA has 2,318 more beds coming online Vs 500 more for north Texas state
go away commuter school boy
PS before you go away remember that after UTD qualifies for NRUF funding next year the next university that will do so will be UTA most likely in 6 years from now.......and after that it will be Texas State or UTSA or both at the same time in 7 or 8 years from now
it is hard to say when north Texas state might have a chance to qualify since their restricted research is on a 4 year downward trend and is currently below both TAMU Kingsville and TAMU Corpus Christi (if the A&M System was not so poorly run they would merge them and they would probably be an emerging research university and ahead of north Texas state for NRUF funding)
congrats on all that new athletics spending and shopping center and fast food restaurant spending it is really paying off for you academically!

Is the savannah campus actually going to be considered the same as the main campus? Or just part of a Georgia Southern University System?
The State of Georgia has a single university system that all universities fall under......this is part of why it has been easier for them to merge universities Vs Texas with 6 university systems and 4 independent universities (which is too many on all fronts)
