dont get ahead of yourself..... remember that it was only FIU. If there is a smackdown vs memphis....... then you can start getting excited....... however it will be short lived because scott frost will be outta here after seasons end.

I still don't know how anyone can talk attendance smack about any of the teams that played last night. Guys, it was freaking Diatomaceous Earth Day - how could anyone expect high attendance when competing with the diatom?

How can lead the conference when your max capacity is less than 100 more than what a 3-9 ECU team averaged last year?
(See attendance smack is alive and well)

I would expect more from the reigning Virtual Bowl Champs.
We haven't won that one in a few years, so we don't brag on that one too much. But hey, $14k+ towards the basketball facility was a nice impromptu fundraiser.

Will probably have over 50k for the Boise game. I assume we'll average about 42k this year.
That's incredible attendance for a G4 conference member! Outperformance, no matter what your level, can be very fulfilling.

So are we talking butts in seats or reported? Seems like you've been cooking the books pretty good over there.
"According to the city, SDSU averaged 25,617 fans through the turnstile for its six games last season at Qualcomm Stadium, well short of the 37,289 announced attendance that is generally cited as the team’s average."
"The highest actual average attendance for SDSU football over the past seven seasons was 28,274 in 2011, and the team has drawn crowds of more than 30,000 to exactly one-fourth of the 44 home games it has played in that time."

Realize, I was not talking smack. I was just making a statement of fact.
I figured that article would be posted, as obviously I have read it. It is laughed at by all Aztec fans who have been in the stadium. I have spent my entire life at Qualcomm Stadium. Anyone that says there was only 31k at the New Hampshire opener last year, or only 33k at the Cal game would argue that the Sky is not blue. Go-ahead and look at pictures of the game.
The guy that wrote the article, Acee, has been openly campaigning against SDSU, and in support of Soccer City, so his article is written to discredit San Diego State, and in support of us playing in a small soccer stadium. He knows the Soccer initiative is dead without SDSU, so he has been trying to embarrass SDSU. Good thing it didn't work.
Nonetheless, going forward. You be the judge. Look at the crowds in our home opener, against Stanford, and against Boise, and you decide if the books are being cooked.

Sure, a sprinkling, in a 70k stadium. Nobody is arguing that the Q is not a cavernous dump.
Look at this link. You actually can see the funny argument, between the blogger and the writer.
https://twitter.com/AKH_blog/status/844686501946417152
Bottom line, we are well attended for a G5 program. Possibly only less than ECU and BYU.
Look at this link. This is for the Home Opener. Keep in mind, the top Bowl is about 12k seats. Thus, it appears that if you include Students, there are only about 12k to 15k left in a 70,000 seat stadium.

Historically, the seats right on the sideline and in the corners never sold well, so they started tapping them. Only reduces the capacity by about 3-5k.
We'll have above 50k for the home opener, Boise, Stanford, and potentially Homecoming if we are playing well.
The Black Friday game will be around 30k, which sucks, and makes the attendance look pathetic in the Q.
We need a Stadium like ECUs. That would be perfect for us.

At 25k you would be near the bottom of the AAC. Takes time though to build a base.
