I can tell you for a fact that I've never shot a white person, so there's that.

IMO, it was said in jest trying to diffuse a difficult situation. Unfortunately, stuff like that simply can't be said these days without there being outrage, etc.

This was a veteran cop of 31 years. While the words he used obviously are toxic...I fully believe that he was simply trying to get the driver to cooperate with him. Cops are TAUGHT to lie,trick,deceive and do whatever it takes to diffuse situations. It is SOP with them. He should have been reprimanded and had to publicly apologize for his comments..but..He should not have lost his job over this.

31 years? Wow, didn't he just retire then? I know it was probably forced retirement, but after 31 years I'd be willing to take that.

He sent in a retirement notice, but the spokesperson said, "No! We're trying to fire him." Sounds like the department was trying to save on pensions.

The real question is why this video from July 2016 just popped up.
