For UCLA game, where should we stay...need advice!
Where to stay downtown at a decent price other than Peabody. And is there a good to very good hotel near the Liberty Bowl? This is for UCLA game...

Also, what time should we get there to assure ourselves of a parking place. Between 9:15 to 9:30 a.m.?

Thanks for the help!

Go Tigers!

Not many hotels in Midtown. Medical center is closest with a few hotels. Most downtown will be pricey and most likely will include a parking fee. There are some cheaper hotels clustered near Court Square. You have CBU parking directly north of the fairgrounds. Street parking to the west. Board of Education and Tobey parking to the north east. All are an easy walk. The earlier the better as far as arrival. Better to get there and enjoy Tiger Lane and the festivities than to be waiting in massive traffic jam.

Depends on what you consider a reasonable price. Big Cypress Lodge inside Bass Pro at the Pyramid

Perhaps you just find a clean hotel on the East side of town and uber it to the game. I only say East because there are a # of hotels and the rates are probably better than downtown. Plus you don't worry about game day parking, etc.

Holiday Inn - University of Memphis on Central. Possibly the Hotel Napoleon downtown or the Madison, or any of the many hotels out East off Poplar Avenue.

But DO NOT wait until 9:30 to try to find a parking place near the Liberty Bowl because there is a massive Cooper-Young Festival that day, and traffic will be horrible. I would suggest trying to park on the street just west of the Liberty Bowl off Parkway in the side streets. You might want to be there for the Tiger Walk around 9:00 a.m.

For Downtown, the Madison is my favorite. There's a Hampton Inn/Suites right off Beale that may be a little more reasonable, but is still pretty nice. I've heard the Courtyard is decent, as well. It's a little North, but still near everything.

Not much in Midtown, really.

There's plenty in East Memphis, if you're good with being a little bit out.

You have almost waited to late. Not many hotels left in the city at this point. You'll definitely be in the burbs.

It's been several years, but I have stayed at the Hampton Inn on Poplar. Right up the street from Blue Plate Cafe (great breakfast) and across the street from Corky's BBQ. Reasonable rate, as I recall. Fairly close to the Liberty Bowl.

The Peabody usually isn't that expensive in relative terms. For that weekend? Maybe,

The Hampton Inn by Beale is very nice, I hear. You will just have to come back in a couple years when the $73,000,000 development of The Edge district is up and running.

The Rebel Inn on Lamar was the place to be years ago.
