There won't even be 10,000 actual butts in seats. If not for the storm, there would have been 40,000+ actual butts in seats

There better be more than 10,000 there. That would mean only the diehards came to the game.
So it feels like some of the women and kids and older folks might chicken out some and not go, but here's a question.
IF the first game was against ucla, tennessee or ole miss instead of ulm, don't you think more fans would come despite the rain?

If it happens, I want one of those "I was one of 10,000 t-shirts".
I missed out on the 4,100 night because of a bankers convention here in Downtown Nashville. My boss and I watched it in the former sports bar in the Hilton.

RE: Game Day Weather, 8/31/17
I was at a game long ago when we defeated ark state to end a long losing streak in the rain. I was there for the famous 4100 game, but there seemed to be less there when fuente won his first game as a tiger coach in the rain.
The announced attendance might have been much more, but after all the rain, no one hardly stayed for the finish. We stayed under the pressbox to avoid the rain.
This article says 173 fans were left to celebrate the win. I think it was slightly more than that.

Honestly, with the later weeknight start, and threat of lightning/big thunderstorms, meaning the game would be delayed 30 minutes every time that come around, you'd have a few more, but not by much.
As of right now our family plans on going (7 year old included), even if it's just for a bit....which it likely will be. If it's some serious storms, we won't.
We were at those games 3-4 years ago when storms continuously sent the crowd inside the concourse because of lightning. No one with kids will wait that out on a school night.

If attendance is too low, I'll bop up there on my scooter with a Kroger ticket and get in on the 4100 action.

This game will never finish on Thursday; I'm not even sure it will ever start. It's ridiculous that we haven't postponed this game to Saturday.

Weather Channel just called for 4-8 inches on Thursday for the Tennessee Valley.
This may surpass the UTM game in 2011.

I read on weather.com that counties to the west of the path will be more favorable. The current path prediction has Memphis on the west side of the path. If we catch a break and it slides more to the east as it approaches, the rainfall might not be the deluge people expect.
Either way, if they play I'm there.
