Look for us to go undefeated and in the NYD slot. Can't wait for the start.

You've been predicting an undefeated season since 1963. I hope you are right.

USGS says scaterd thunder showers, and 40% chance. Harvey is retarding and it's doubtful Memphis will feel more than a small effect if that. Take a raincoat, umbrellas can be a distraction to those behind.

Don't think umbrellas are allowed in LBMS.

Still a lot of uncertainty with the forecast. I can't believe we agreed to a Thurs night game to be in CBS Sports. For ESPN, maybe. And then the late kickoff to boot.

Agree. Really takes the edge off the season opener. First the weather forecast which will scare a sizeable portion of the walkup crowd away even if it proves to be incorrect and then the 815 start which kills the family and 'mature' crowd. It'll look like a jailbreak at halftime for those that do come, which will be around 10 pm. All sports just continually make it harder to be a fan at the game. It's just turning into nothing more than television programming.

I can't fathom what the folks in Houston and surrounds are going through now - and will have it worse in the upcoming days.

You are definitely correct. A friend that is down their volunteering said this is MUCH worse than Katrina and there isn't an immediate end in sight.

One of the reports I saw said that by tomorrow, they will get more rain out of this system than they get in a full year.

RE: Game Day Weather, 8/31/17
I knew when i saw this thread that some yuck would post another weather thread. Everything has to have multiple threads around here. I expect at least one or two more weather threads to appear. I guess it's too hard to post in threads on the same subject for so many here.

I was thinking over 40k would attend the first game despite the no name opponent. I'll go with 28,500 if it is raining hard before the game and during the game. I'm sure we will have multiple threads on predictions for scores and attendance.

It's truly a rain of epic proportions. Katrina had a higher storm surge than Harvey, but most of the floodwater (in Mississippi, at least) receded within a few hours. That water in Houston ain't going away anytime soon.

Whether your home or business is flooded for an hour, or a week, the damage is done; but the recovery from Harvey is going to be postponed due to the standing water. Horrific.

Heck, there were even fewer people at the UAB game a couple years later.

Heavy rain from Harvey will impact us Thursday night through Saturday. Up to 7 inches of rain possible.

The poorest actual attendance I've seen on TV for either sport was Fuente's last game against SMU.

If there is a clear bag policy at LBMS, is there a clear raincoat policy?
