Prior to that the churches in Jonesboro for years would buy up potential liquor licenses to ensure establishments could never get one. As for fan participation on one hand I get of older fans don't want to stand and hoop and holler but I think on that flip side that kinda goes with the territory of being at the stadium with 20000 other people watching the game live-deal with it

Stephenville, Tx in Erath country is like that. You have to be a member of a "club" to drink. And most of the "clubs" close at midnight I believe.... lame...

When I was in school at Tarleton, it was a 20 minute drive to the county line so you could buy booze. About 10:30, you would do beer math and figure out if you had enough to get through the night. If the answer was no, everyone pooled money and a few people made the roadtrip.

Oh another unpopular view (I think)... I wouldn't want to be in CUSA, because of TOO many TX teams.

To me, you want a larger (within reason) footprint of the conference, but still with some local ties. Being in a conference SOLELY made up of Texas schools (which we would be in CUSA) would be counter to that.

Honestly, I love the footprint of the Sun Belt. If there was just one more Football playing Texas School in it. It's precisely why the idea of UTA restarting football would make me giddy.

We tried it and got VanGooberized and "Hatched" a pitch it forward offense that was so bad we tried the same guy again just to make sure... So until proven otherwise option football is the only option.

1. That CUSA is somehow an upgrade from the Sun Belt. In my opinion it has one single advantage (for TXST specifically) over the Sun Belt and that is 4 other football sponsoring Texas schools.
