Saw this on reddit and thought it might make a decent topic for discussion. What's something that a large majority of your fan base believes that you don't?

For me (these are my assertions which the majority of the GS fan base probably doesn't agree):

1. It's not the athletic director's fault we don't get more interesting non-conference games or P5 home and homes.

2. A single big Power 5 win is not going to catapult the program into being an AAC candidate. Consistently competing with Power 5 teams and winning at least some of them is going to garner more respect than getting one BIG win.

3. Auburn is not a top-10 team and the game is winnable if we get a fast start like we did in 2014.

Time of Possession wins games. And for some reason some people think all we need is 4 yards a carry to never be stopped on offense.

Also, I believe your number 1 is a half truth. I think it's a little bit of the AD as well as other factors.

I honestly think most TXST fans are in agreement on most things.

That's real point of contention with our fans, too, but I don't know if it's a majority. Unless you're in the student section, sit your butt down unless it's going down to the wire.

1. That Georgia State is a much larger threat than GS fans are willing to admit

2. Our uniforms are classic but too simple and not noteworthy

In terms of all college football fans.....the refs aren't out to get your team and the worst refs aren't in your conference

Came here to pretty much say that I do not like most of our older fans...lol.

Troy:

Neal Brown is not the next Peterson, Malzahn,etc. He is a very solid coach and will move up soon, but some of his playcalling is questionable (remember the aSu game last year or the LSU debacle years ago)...

Branding/Unis/Logo/Apparel - most fans seem to be ok with it, albeit improved, I think we need to rebrand, we could do so much better, esp with the letters TROY - so many excellent branding opportunities... , esp. logo designs: I would prefer a more classic design over the current "video-game type designs"

Recruiting (In-state) - UAB and USA hurt us a lot more than some people realize, (same for GA Southern since moving up...)

That we need a single uniform (red jerseys, red pants) to establish an identity vs a brand new uniform combo for every single game, especially at home.

As some of you fellow bible staters know we have a mix of dry and wet counties and Jonesboro is locate in what's called the "wettest dry county in Arkansas", thanks in part of the "private clubs" (basically restaurants and bars only let their members that sign up to consume alcohol) technically I think food also has to be served but I've never seen that really enforced

Prior to that the churches in Jonesboro for years would buy up potential liquor licenses to ensure establishments could never get one. While I will say it seems most churches have cooled their prohibition agenda you'll still hear of churches protesting a new restaurant or lounge who files for an alcohol license

As for fan participation on one hand I get of older fans don't want to stand and hoop and holler but I think on that flip side that kinda goes with the territory of being at the stadium with 20000 other people watching the game live-deal with it

I'm actually with you there, I love the different uniform combos, except for the hideous gray jerseys.

From just the past week - "The New all gold unis are awesome"

I think I'm in the minority on that one. Not a fan.

Stephenville, Tx in Erath country is like that. You have to be a member of a "club" to drink. And most of the "clubs" close at midnight I believe.... lame...

Too many fans think Dan'l Boone Inn is a good restaurant.

We have a thread on astatenation about this already. We need to settle on a look. Preferably black jersey, white pants,and black helmet(no stripe) with the block stAte logo. Except for paint the town red week...should be all red. Of course this year the team is wearing black and it's on our tickets for us to wear black. A stAte guy did post on Facebook to wear what we want...just be there.

1. We disagree on expectations. I think mine are lower, given where we are in this coach's life cycle.
2. I disagree with most on the name change. Enough said.
3. I think I am a bit harsher on our AD than most (if that is even possible).
4. I cannot stand our booster org, and how they operate. I think I differ with most of our fan base on that.

The fried chicken is good but everything else is mediocre. Certainly not worth standing in line for. If you have to have it then get takeout for half the price.

1 - Ditch the Yellar & go back to the classic Gold we wore the programs first 55 years.
2 - Ditch the alternate uniforms.
