Dodds: Coaching Hotseat ratings
http://www.cbssports.com/college-footbal...0-coaches/
The scale:
RATING WHAT IT MEANS COACHES
5 Win or be fired 2
4 Start improving now 4
3 Pressure is mounting 15
2 All good ... for now 31
1 Safe and secure 66
0 Untouchable 12
The two fives are no surprises Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin and Norte Dame's Brian Kelly.
The 4 ratings were Arizona/Rich Rod, Arizona State/Todd Graham, Kent State/Paul Haynes, Texas Tech/ Klifg Kingsbury
SEC breakdown:
0- Ala
1- Fl, Ga, Mizz
2- Ark, LSU, MSU, Ole, SC, Tenn
3- Aub, V, UK
4- none
5- A&M
If Auburn beats Alabama, Gus' seat will be fine for several years. Vanderbilt should be a 2. Stoops seems to be doing a good job in Lexington; schools keep flipping his recruits at the last minute--not sure how much higher they can go without a homerun replacement.
Arkansas should be a three. Bert needs to show some consistency and vastly improve that defense that has yearly regressed.

Interesting to me that TN is a 2. I'm fine with that. A few 8-4 win seasons after the Kiffin/Dooley era should be okay. But actually TN is probably a 4: Start improving now. We don't have to go 12-0 or win a national championship, but we can't lose to South Carolina and Vandy again, and probably need to beat Florida again as well. Another 8-4 season this year would probably be acceptable to me, since we are changing QBs, etc, as long as those four were to say Bama, LSU, Georgia and one other. That might not be enough to win the east, but should get us a decent bowl matchup.

I want to see what Butch Jones does without Dobbs to be honest. Dobbs could steal a win and hand one over. I think Tennessee should beat either Georgia or Florida this year. A 9-3 record is obtainable.

RE: Dodds: Coaching Hotseat ratings
Sumlin is definitely on the hot seat
This has been the most dejected, unenthusiastic off season I've seen since the Fran era. Almost no one has any faith in this team or coaching staff right now.
7-5 is seen as the very best possible record and the big debate is over wether that's good enough to keep Sumlin. The consensus seeming to be that it has to include at least one big scalp (Bama/LSU/UF) to show that all the new kids are at least heading in the right direction. Otherwise Chad Morris come on down! (Note: not at all enthused about this but apparently it's written in stone that it's the Dallas donors turn to pick and he's their golden boy for some reason)
