RE: Question about Hockey/ACCN
Serious questions....
1. Would those schools under the "ACC" name make more money than if they were in a single-sport conference like Hockey East?
2. Would those schools under the "ACC" name make enough money to give some back to the ACC?
If the answer to either is no, then the issue is dead.
I don't think the ACCN is lacking content. The B1G had a network with 11 teams.

Certainly, there's no point in doing it unless there's a net profit for the ACC. There would be some advertising revenue and, more importantly, additional subscriber fees. The question is the extent to which these would outweigh the additional production costs. The production costs would be much less if these hockey schools develop their own production facilities as the ACC schools are now doing. I strongly doubt these schools are making any significant money now from hockey broadcasts. They'd probably be happy with whatever crumbs the ACC could throw their way. Would it be worth it for the ACC? Who knows? I know that I don't like having BC and Notre Dame in other conferences for hockey. Actually, I don't care about BC. I'd be happy for BC to take off for a different conference but no other P5 conference would have them. Notre Dame is my concern.

Why? I am not following the reason for your concern that ND is playing hockey in the Big Ten (or formerly in Hockey East).

1. Most don't play in hockey east, but I doubt that any truly care about the conference's name or TV deal.
2. Probably, but it would probably go to the members that play in it (like the B1G)
The real question is epukd they leave their current conference, and the answer to that is probably "no" because Cornell founded it, and BU/BC/ND won't leave w/o a very solid option (i.e. De facto Ivy less the filler of the rest of the ECAC)
