Pretty sure UConn, Cincinnati, Temple, Memphis can come up with an impressive list of their own.

03-lmfao Pretty sure UC and Memphis rank in the top 25 all time for players drafted into the NBA. Of course Bugaha State is the very bestest of all time.

Your words. Not ours.

Aside from something that doesn't happen at ECU, what is power basketball?

UConn, Cincy and UH have the best Big 5 All-time teams. I wouldn't wanna face that UConn team. I always forget Lance and Kenyon went to Cincy. Good starting 5.

For SMU I'd have to say:
Jim Krebs (3rd Overall draft pick in late 50's, led us to Final 4)
Gene Phillips (3 time SWC POY)
Jon Koncak
Nic Moore
Then you could make an argument for:
Ira Terrell
Semi Ojeleye
Quinton Ross
for the final spot. Sasser was pretty good too.

Memphis can make a good case:

G - Derrick Rose (#1 overall NBA draft pick, 2008)
G - Larry Finch (best all-around Tiger ever, led team to 1973 NCAA F2)
G/SF - Penny Hardaway (#3 overall NBA draft pick, 1993)
F - Win Wilfong (All-American and #4 overall NBA draft pick, 1957)
C - Keith Lee (#11 overall NBA draft pick, 1985)

We also have:

Tyreke Evans, G (#4 overall NBA pick, 2009)
Will Barton, G, 2013
Larry Kenon, F, 1972
Forest Arnold F, 1956 (all-time scorer until Finch)
Elliott Perry, G, 1992
Ronnie Robinson, F, 1973
Rodney Carney, F, 2007
Elliot Williams, G. 2012
Andre Turner, G, 1987
DaJuan Wagner, G, 2003
Shawne Williams, F, 2007
Lorenzen Wright, C, 1997
Vincent Askew, G, 1987
William Bedford, C, 1987
Mike Butler, G, 1968
Joey Dorsey, C, 2008
Chris Douglas-Roberts, F, 2008
Rich Jones, F, 1970
Andre Turner, G, 1987
Antonio Anderson, G, 2009
Earl Barron, C, 2005

I'm sure I'm leaving out a few, but that's a start.

My Cincinnati list:

Top Twenty College Ever
Oscar Robertson

Elite:
Jack Twyman, Ron Bonham, Kenyon Martin, Danny Fortson, Nick Van Excel, Pat Cummings, Reubern Patterson, Steve Logan, Sean Kilpatrick

Fan Favorites

Eric Hicks, Melvin Levett, James White, Kenny Satterfield, Lou Banks, Levertis Robinson, Keith Starks, Cedric Glover, Roger McClendon, Jelly Jones, Yancey GAtes,

Missing from my list
Dontonio Wingfield, Dermarr Johnson, and Lance Stevenson.

All were NBA players, but did not leave a significant mark as a Bearcat due to the one and done rule. Thanks BCM for drawing this distinction.

Very heavy on post 1986 players since I was not familiar to the team prior to this date.

I enjoy lists from the former Metro teams because they spark old memories. Eliot Perry was a Bearcat killer. I remember Vincent Askew but I do not think 98 is the correct date. Penny Hardaway brings a smile to my face. Lorenzen Wright was a very good player along with Andre Turner. I would enjoy a list from UAB and Louisville.

That's a FAR too recent list for Cincinnati, I'll refer to Rosewater's list above...but suffice to say, we have some historic heavy hitters in the pro game along with some serious ballers in the college game.

Twyman was the first player to average 30ppg int he NBA, Oscar is Oscar, Kmart and Van Exel had very solid careers, then you've got Fortson who was NPOY, Logan who is one of the best statistical shooters in the last 20 years in college and a two time All-American, Kilpatrick who you all know.

Lance was nothing special here and has been nothing special in the pros outside of him blowing on Lebron's ear for 5 games.

Agree about Lance. I think a lot of times even our own fans our guilty of not knowing UC basketball history. We have had 33 guys go on to play in the NBA, nearly all who had better careers at UC than Lance, and many who had better careers in the pros as well. Of the top of my head guys above Lance who haven’t been mentioned in this thread (some of them are from the 50s, 60, and 70s so they are often overlooked):

Connie Dierking, Tom Thacker, Rick Roberson, Derrek Dickey, Pat Cummings, Corrie Blount, DerMarr Johnson, Dontonio Wingfield, Kenny Satterfield and Jason Maxiell. This list is just the guys who went on to an NBA career. If I start going on with guys who never got into the league, I could throw out some others (ie. Herb Jones, Lazelle Durden, Eric Hicks, etc.).

One way to look at this is to compare Lance to other one and dones (DerMarr Johnson, Dontonio Winfield and Satterfield). If you break it down, Lance’s career at UC paled in comparison to those three. If not for an auto accident DerMarr would have had a better NBA career.

He has been making some solid money in the street court circuit too...he was the 7th pick in the Big3 Draft.

I loved the Quickster when he played for my Mavs. As of last season I believe he was still with the Mavs organization coaching our D-league team.

Don't think anyone can compete with Houston on this one.

UCONN & Cincy can.

Ray Allen
Caron Butler
Rip Hamilton
Emeka Okafor
Kemba Walker
Shabazz Napier

** Donyell Marshall and Andre Drummond would have to be on that list as well for Uconn. A current NBAer and a former one.
