loyola??

your realize memphis had multiple elite recruits on their roster

loyola didnt beat a team with a heart beat, cant recruit, dont have elite facilitis or 18k fans home court advantage... you realize memphis beat south carolina (that went to the final four)

soon youll find out in the MVC..someone has to win even between 2 bad teams..and in the AAC someone has to lose even between 2 good teams...and simple picking the on record is dumb..

but i love how you dodged the question...people who dodge know they have no point

"Elite" recruits don't equal wins unfortunately. The team that puts more points on the board usually wins. Kenpom says the game would be a toss-up... same goes for UCONN sadly.

You're a way better troll than Bearcats#1. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

Want to take a guess on how many elite recruits we had on our roster when we went to the Final Four?

And KenPom isn't even W/L based, you freaking dunce.

there's atleast 1 4star on every team in the AAC except ecu and tulsa...and ecu fans will tell you one of their players was a 4star when he committed but was demoted after (they think its a conspiracy)

we all have elite recruits..even our bottom feeders...

like i said someone has to lose and someone has to win...again spare me your kenpom bs...which you guys only use becuase that is the only kinda legit argument..ignoring what any with any basketball sense can see..

if you put 10 bad teams together...and put 10 good teams together and they played in seperate conferences, the worst of the good teams will be ranked lower than the best of the worst team

I'm really looking forward to our game against Baylor next year. They will take the lead early with a score of 5 Elite Recruits to 0. Second half should be interesting though. We have 10k fans to their 6k or so. They'll probably pull away late though due to their future wins over KU and Iowa State.

Glad to see there is at least one school here whose fans are dumber than Illinois State fans. Home sweet home in no time.

pretty good, our best year in 10 years, most of them return, the media isnt high on houston because we dont have that many high profile media players but for the first time in ages most of our fans think we'll be a tourney team

did finish 3rd in the league last year, with our only legit big missing the first half of the season

we actually had a super stacked team in 2013, but didnt think our coach could win with them so we fired him to get sampson who we felt could win at an elite level with them...it backfired..they all transfered out (to become pac 12 player of the year, big 12 newcomer of the year, 1st team all sec, and a 4th player who was a starter on a top 10 arkansas team) we ended up sucking for 2 years but we back!! just had to get horses back in the barn

so no complaint.. i know your comment was a jab, but it wasnt

you guys sound so much like ECU..when they first joined in football..they just finished dominating c-usa (they didnt join the AAC when we did) then won games by an average of 30, returned everyone and claimed they were going to dominate this league, to an almost arrogant level with the preseason hype of returning everyone..we told them they played no one in c-usa..they called us stupid

they were never in contention for the AAC or even close since joining

and a differnt team had a similar transition wichita did...memphis when they joined the AAC

2012-13 memphis 31-5 ranked top 20 national...dominated a weak c-usa...returned most of their star players, and then unlike Wichita brought in the #3 recruiting class in te nation

in total there was 9 espn 100 on roster 2 were 5star recruits...memphis was a huge favorite.. (note ul was still in the league then)..they finished 6th an mid-seed nit team

You've told us not to confuse you with facts, statistics and preseason rankings, and that your personal eye test is worth more than all of those combined.

I guess we'll see. Looking forward to making the roadtrip to UH this season, hopefully I can snag a ticket.

RE: Shockers: Where will they Finish?
There really isn't a lot of separation between basketball teams once you reach a certain level, regardless of what ESPN would have you believe. Take the top 50 Kenpom rated teams in the country, subtract the top 5, and the winner will be the team with the best effort. Effort is the great equalizer in college basketball. I'll let you guess what level of effort Gregg Marshall teams bring each and every night.

Top 50 teams loaded with blue-chippers will be flashy, will pass the "eye-test", will have great dunking, plenty of draftees, but NCAA success is not guaranteed. I've seen Kentucky and North Carolina in the NIT. Do Shocker fans prefer 5-star recruits over 3-star? Sure! Just as long as they come to play hard every night and win. Many do not. Many care only about filling a score sheet - to the detriment of the teams' goal and the betterment of their own. The blue-chippers who play hard (defense) in college AND listen to coach are not common. These are unicorns and they usually wind up at a random P6 college bringing their team much victory see: Shabazz Napier (not even blue chip - barely top 100).

I never said that, I said computer recognize wins and coming for your league it won't be apples to apples comparison when trying to comlare in this league..It'll be more telling when we are all on the same playing field

You even noted that those computrrs say loyola MD and memphis were viewed as the same by your computer metrics .. you called me dumb anyone who thinks loyola md was the same quality and claims to know basketball has no clue what they are talking about
I clearly noted that that I still had wsu top 2 but my confidence in that ranking just went way down

RE: Shockers: Where will they Finish?
I guess we should vacate our F4 appearance because we didn't have any blue chippers on the roster. Probably have to do the same for the 13 point beat down of KU. I guess Gonzaga's wins and rankings shouldn't count. After all, they were achieved in a bad conference, so they don't mean anything.

Am I starting to get this figured out?

It's easier for us out here in wheat country to keep track of the blue chippers at local schools (like KU) rather than AAC schools. Until this year there wasn't much reason to follow the recruiting battles of UCF and Temple. KU, with their annual cadre of 5* and MickeyD's AA's is 1-3 in the last 4 meetings with those lowly Mediocre Values Conference opponents.

I don't think the UNI and Bradley teams that beat KU even had any 3* recruits.

It's easy to look at WSU's roster and dismiss them because there aren't any guys that were really loved by the scouting services. Marshall has demonstrated that he DOESN'T NEED prize recruits in order beat teams that have them.

If Marshall starts getting a higher level of recruits now that WSU is in The American, grab your ass with both hands and squeeze tight, 'cause it's gonna be one hell of a ride.
