It cost 77.9 million, I added 2.1 million for inflation (80 million) then I added 15-19 because it's Philly. (95-99 million)

so yes, I thought of that. Are my numbers 100% accurate? I dunno...but I bet it's pretty close. I do think you could build Apogee stadium at 16th and Norris for 99 million.

north Texas state already owned the land that Apple Tree Stajium sits on as well and it was a wide open space with no need to block streets or worry about traffic or even working late so you have to take that into consideration also

RE: OT: Colorado State New FB Stadium
This would easily be the best football facility in the AAC if Colorado State joined. It reminds me a lot of TCU's stadium but i prefer this one since it has more seating at field level.

When UH opened our stadium it was missing a LOT and felt like corners were cut. Tdecu is nice relative to the american but i don't believe it set the standard for new stadiums. Colorado state looks like theyre doing everything right, already have the ribbon boards in place and I'm really impressed, sometimes renderings don't match the final product that's not the case here, good for them.

I went to the opener at North Texas in 2011. Really liked their stadium. Very solid feel to it. Aside from the "winged" end zone, it was concrete risers on concrete (not steel) support beams.

Ingress and egress sucked. Traffic was horrible after the game. They've since built a pedestrian bridge across 35. Hopefully it's better now.

But most of all, I hold a fondness for Apogee because our president attended the 2011 game and learned how this Texas school in the Sun Belt Conference financed much of such a nice stadium: student fees.

North Texas put it up for a vote to their students back in 2009 or so.

This led to a student fee referendum at UH in January 2012 that passed in a landslide after Keenum's senior year. Without the student fees, TDECU Stadium may not have been built at all, and would be much smaller and less nice.

Not close. Union labor alone would drive the cost up more than that. Then there's the fact that downtown Philly has a lot more challenges with access, existing buildings, utilities, etc. It's probably more like double the cost of building the same stadium in Texas.

So does Temple...it's currently the site of Temple's Geasey Field.

Well, the block traffic/streets part isn't accurate.

A week ago you said that "you've noticed something about me, that I blame everyone else/Aresco for ECU's problems." I took it like a man, and didn't fight back. Heck, I will concede that maybe you are right a little bit and that I do blame Aresco too much for certain things.
So in the spirit of unsolicited observations, I've noticed this about you: You hate on other programs, particularly programs you feel are a threat to Houston. I'm happy for Colorado St. They finally got a very nice OCS and moved out of their very old smaller stadium. It's much like what Houston did a few years ago, and I was happy for the Coogs then too. I won't sh!t on CSU's good news like you are doing. I hope you've got the guts and honesty to consider what I've observed about you.

With the Raiders moving to LV, the Chargers leaving their stadium to SDSU, let's add CSU, SDSU, AF and UNLV and destroy the MWC for good.

That's a WAC blast from the past! Just switch out Idaho and NMSU for Wyoming and New Mexico.

Boise St. went to BCS bowls with that conference....

I've never been to Apogee but just from pictures I can agree that I don't like the end zone wings.

Just curious but what did y'all UH folk think of Bobcat Stadium last fall?

They seem to draw really similar to what we did in the old Robertson's stadium... so I really don't see the point of acting as if we were averaging 50k a game.

It was nice. Really hot that day. Kind of a hike to get to the stadium from the shuttle bus drop off. Awesome student tailgating. Nice scenery. 03-cloud9

One demerit: the stadium speakers are about 10 feet above the end zone bleachers, and they stuck the UH fans in that end zone. I was going deaf, so I moved.

RE: OT: Colorado State New FB Stadium
Texas State's game day is pretty solid.

GOOD-

tailgating
beer sales in stadium
our seats were decent (on the 40)
we lucked into great parking but it looked like a cluster

BAD-

Lighting- it felt dark
Replay board
Horseshoe endzone addition- you can tell there was once a track there and seats seem set back too far
