My wife is a CSU grad. Beautiful campus, good fans but the old stadium was a dump and too far from campus. CSU will draw much better with this stadium. I expect them to do well going forward. She's been on my case about moving to CO one day. It's a little more likely after seeing this.

Always had a soft spot for Colorado State. I actually think they're attainable if we keep improving as a conference. They're the #2 option in their state, which is a huge plus when you look into the long term.

Temple needs the spacious land that CSU has in order to be able to pull off a stadium. There is no parking except for 'hey buddy. I'll watch your car for you for $20."

Temple needs something like Apogee Stadium. It's nice enough, holds enough people, and won't break the bank (it only cost like 80 million, which is like 95 million in Philly)

Not a bad goal for a Temple on campus stadium. However, the site on campus has significant infrastructure issues which will add costs. I have no inside info, but momentum for a Temple stadium has seemed to stall.

yep, that stadium would look great at 16th and Norris.

This stadium is exactly what we need, although I prefer Nippert's design.

Too small. We should build a stadium starting at 34K-36K capacity.

We have the land (relatively). The parking will be built into the stadium area.

I don't think that corner could support a stadium footprint like what CSU is building.

Apogee Stadium is 426,000 square feet and holds 31,000 people (SRO)

CSU's stadium is 644,000+ total square feet and hold 36,000 (40k SRO)

Apogee is affordable for Temple (say 95-99 million to do it right) compared to CSUs stadium (200 million)

We built a $200M dorm and we're building an $190M library. I think we can build a $200M stadium.

I don't like North texas's stadium looks small and cheap. Houston, Baylor, and TCU did a great job. As well as Colorado State. Akron also did good with theirs. If USF build a stadium similar to Baylors that would put them were they need to be as a program. Our new expansion will have us their as well

Local politicians and your typically city government democrats who do not like new development and neighborhood progress.

Small and cheap is easy to get done. I mean, it's better than over paying to lease the Eagles stadium and it can be done quickly.

If Temple has 200+ million to spend on a stadium, cool...go for it!

If not, there are options...see Yulman and Apogee.

UNT's Apogee is small and relatively affordable, but it didn't feel cheap. The thing is SOLID. All concrete. No tin can feel. The press box level and suite deck are quite nice. The only thing I think they wasted money on is the stupid eagle wing end zone. The biggest/tallest feature of their stadium contains the worst seats in the house that have never been close to full.

By the way, the photos show the opening game; Houston vs. UNT. I was there that night. Lots of red.

I don't think you realize how expensive it is to build things here. Villanova's basketball arena renovation is $60M. A football stadium would be $120M minimum for the shittiest football stadium possible.

I did say a 80 million dollar stadium like Apogee would cost 95-99 million in Philly.

I'm adding 15-19 million dollars just for kickbacks to the unions and local city council :-)

Apogee also opened 6 years ago. Prices for stadiums have gone up some in that time. You are talking about a stadium for Temple that wouldn't open before 2019 if started this year.
