Can't stop, can you. Gloom, despair, and agony on me. Deep dark, depression, excessive misery.... If it weren't for bad luck.....
Wow, bet you're a lot of fun... Tubby, Saul, Tubby, Saul, not enough stars, waaaaa. Rinse. Repeat.
Dude, get a life!

Yawn...
You seem exhausted. Apparently, you only have enough energy to flame him instead of answering a very legitimate question.
Is it necessary to give a legitimate reply to someone that says the same thing over, and over, and over, and over again?
"Tubby says we'll be a very good team, so I expect second round of the NCAA"... Blah, blah, blah.
Most of know he inherited a **** show. We've sunk to the levels of having to hire a dad to land recruits. Tubby didn't want him on the bench, and thats his choice (since he is the head coach overall). So as a compromise, he kept him on staff and gave him a 20k raise. Not a bad deal, right? But obviously, the Lawson's felt slighted and the dad was pissed and his son's basically quit on the team. At that point, I personally wanted them out. So, they staged a big scene when leaving, including air time for Keelon, a middle finger to Memphis fans, and KJ telling Tubby to F himself. Yet, we still have those that think they should still be here...
Ok, so this turmoil helps Markel decide to leave. I think all of us expected him to leave, so it's not a big surprise. Randle left because he couldn't get playing time even with a short roster. I'm not sure about Keon, he wasn't that good anyway, so who cares? Chad, well, I think it was definitely for the best, he shouldn't consider playing any more with his history of injuries. I still think it's great that he gave it a shot....
So, we have no team in April. We have a one year out of JC player and Martin. Not a real core by any means. Tubby scrambled and did a decent job filling a team with the best available. That said, most of us agree that this isn't going to be a great team. I hope I'm wrong. But things desperately needed to change here and I think a reboot was necessary. He had a decent group of freshman signed and we've got some strong Jucos. It will be a real rebuilding year.
Unlike most of you, Saul isn't the demise of Memphis basketball. It's been going downhill for sometime. We are overlooked by local kids now after 7 years of Pastner. We are just what Pastner hoped we wouldn't become, irrelevant. Attendance is dropping (and has before Tubby got here) and we all know that Memphis will only support a winner.
So can Tubby turn it around? I really don't know. I know that I have no control of hiring and firing of coaches. I know that I support our teams. Of course I miss the days of winning big (Calipari years), but I know we have been in decline for awhile. Tubby deserves criticism for lack of recruiting when he got here. He needed to fill a few holes and add some depth last year. He started way to late and we ended up with Kessee, Chad, and Keon. None were what we needed.
I do think Tubby has awakened from hibernation. He hit the recruiting trail very hard after we lost our players. He beat out P5 teams for his signees and barely lost out on a few more. They seem to be working 2018 very hard. He's a proud man and doesn't want to go out a loser. I guess that gives me optimism. Despite all of this, I support the team (and the coach by default) and I re-up my season tickets every year. I'm looking forward to next year for some reason.
Is that a reasonable response?
