We've missed opportunity after opportunity, and have gift wrapped two runs to USM. Almost appears are guys are pressing with RISP today.

And Andrew is killing us today. Not getting that bunt down could cost us the game. You simply have to score when you get runners on 1B and 2B, no outs.

Pitching change with bases loaded, 1 out. Now or never.

It was an interesting play. As it was bunted, I guess Andrew could've stayed put to avoid getting hit but that might've interfered with the catcher. Obviously, it should've been punched a bit deeper into the field of play. Still, almost a great play.

I really try to avoid complaining about the umpires, but this guy behind the plate is just incompetent.

I think if Dayne slides head first away from the throw and reaches in, he's in easily.

Sheppard single...Warren reached on error...Wunderlich walked 4-0 after Dunlap grounded out to C. Bases loaded one out. MUST capitalize here...
LHP Powers now in for USM (27 app, 2-0, 31.1 IP, 5.46 ERA, .303 BAA, 12 BBs, 24 Ks)...
Wild pitch scores one! 02-13-banana Runners on 2B and 3B, one out. Must put the ball in play here...
Chandler RBI infield single! 02-13-banana Runners on 1B and 3B, one out. Great AB by Ryan after falling behind 1-2 in the count. Again, MUST put the ball in play here...
Proctor grounder to 1B threw Wunderlich out at plate. Ugh. Runners on 1B and 2B, two outs. Looked like Dayne slid under the tag. The umpiring in Biloxi has been gawd awful.
RHP Driver now in for USM (26 app, 2-0, 28.1 IP, 5.72 ERA, .317 BAA, 9 BBs, 27 Ks)...
Myers fouled out after battling back from 0-2 hole. Nice AB, but no banana.
We got robbed of at least one run there, but the no quite Owls tie it up. How much gas can Otto possibly have left in the tank?

Tied at 4-4 heading to the top of the eighth inning.

Looks.like.the ump is taking the game over. That'll happen when your team doesn't take charge of the.game.

He was well safe anyway. The tag wasn't even close to being in time, and I could see that the moment the play happened. The ump didn't eject Dayne because I think he knew in an instant that he ****ed up.

As if the hayseeds need any additional help...

I really want to pay USM back for the 2010 title game, when they threw all three weekend starters in the same game to beat us. It was such a cynical way to win.

Or a feet-first hook slide away from the throw.
He could have made it a not-close play.

But why give the ump a chance to miss the call?

I feel you, but when you're charging for the plate, you have a split second to decide how to go in. I don't know if Dayne could have really sorted that out any better in the heat of the moment.

Maybe a seasoned pro or an inveterate base thief would have gotten the slide "right." Maybe.
