Construction started 2 months ago...$49 million, seats 4,000 with ability to expand to 7K. "IF" USM went all in and invested in one primary sport, why not build a venue that could be used almost 9 months of the year. Host college baseball, high school baseball, regional tournaments, graduations(weather pending), city events..........

We don't need a new baseball venue.

However, what I think our stadium REALLY needs is canopies/overhangs on each side of the suites. Not only would it help out by blocking the sun but also makes the whole stadium look better aesthetically. Another thing, level off the ground and allow more tailgaters in the roost all the way to center field (behind the Hburg Clinic and Forrest General signs) or put some type of outfield deck. Right now the ground seems to dip downhill midway through right field. I think this would make the stadium look great. Just my 2 cents...

I've always thought it'd be nice to get a new scoreboard that was actually a videoboard. The current one is so small.

Been saying this for years.

Always wanted a deck behind one of the power alleys for students. Good contingent of students already attend and that would encourage even more.

Baseball is a nonrevenue sports. If we were to pump money into one sport, it would be basketball.

Thanks to short-term thinking that included actually adding metal bleachers in the year 2011 (well after stadiums started moving to chairback only), I doubt there's much money for seating area upgrades anytime soon.

As much as I love baseball, it would be a bad move to keep pumping money into short term fixes for the grandstands, which needed to be torn down and redone at least five years ago.

The Pete will always have a good atmosphere but it will be badly out of date relative to programs on our level in 10 years.
