Good to see Zach and Jared get recognition. They both played exceptionally well this season.

RE: CUSA baseball awards
Congrats to all of the diamond niners...
But not very happy about MT not getting any pitchers on the team

RE: CUSA baseball awards
So who is someone from your team, or if you followed other teams close, that you felt got shorted?
For me it was a tad surprise having Braley and Colt Smith both first team as I thought one might end up being 2nd team. For the most part I thought USM's selections were pretty spot on with the one slight possibly being Wallner on the 2nd team instead of 1st team but I guess I can't be greedy as we did get the other 2 guys on 1st team. Also, the OF that were selected all had great seasons and with Wallner getting FOY why not spread the love around.

I don't think Rice got shorted, but I think DiCaprio had a case for first team catcher over Diaz. Similar amounts of RBIs, more HRs for Diaz, but DiCaprio hits about 30 points higher average-wise. That said, DiCaprio isn't outstanding at defense. Not sure about Diaz there...

I think Dane Myers had a VERY strong case for 1st team 3B. Hit .362/.435/.533 w/5 HRs, 16 doubles/triples, 36 RBIs, 13-15 SBs...and no one plays a better defensive 3B.

Not a spot for third base. Just the top four infielders.

Congrats to WKU for being the only team without a single player on any team...You would think maybe at least we could manage to have a freshmen...Not even the future looks bright for WKU baseball, because we were not really a young team this season and won 16 games, worse season ever in WKU's history...

Congrats on that record-breaking season. Hope WKU baseball can become competitive quickly.

Always heard Simomeaux didn't even offer Burdeaux out of high school, wonder if he even offered Hunter Williams.

Biggest surprise to me is Wallner not being on 1st team.
As a Freshman he has played in every game
Batting .340
68 Hits
13 Doubles
3 Triples
17 HRs
55 RBI
Slugging .680
Fielding .990

Too enamored with Nichting's batting average.
Plus Finfer named as an OF (could have gone as an INF) didn't help.
Honestly, I thought Rutherford should have been left off. Finfer as an infielder. Then Wallner as an outfielder. But Rutherford is the hottest draft prospect.
