Depending on how the season is going I want to make the 9hr drive to Hattiesburg. Only if we are at 3-3 or 2-4 at that point and they're not sitting at 6-0. If we are having a real good season I will consider making the 12 hr drives to both Murfreesboro and Birmingham. All three of those cities I've never visited. Growing up in El Paso I'm accustomed to making long drives to reach other civilizations. So a couple of 12hr drives don't faze me. I'll jump in my pickup truck and make a weekend out of it.
Have you made plans to attend any road games this upcoming season? Which games are you definitely going to go see? Which ones are you on the fence?
I've missed 2 Western football games in the last 5 seasons ...wife illness for the ODU game and did not have a passport for the bowl game.
Never flown, we drive to all...this year will be no different and we will be at all 14. Even if that 14th is the Bahamas. Getting our passport with in the next couple months because we plan on going to the Basketball tourney (Nov 23rd-24th) over there then made the Western football game at FIU on the 25th ...
The trip I'm looking forward to the most is UTEP. Never been west of Denton TX. Western has a bye week before playing UTEP. So I have a 5500 mile trip planned. Leaving after Western's home game vs Ball State. Heading N.West to Yellowstone National Park, then down to Utah, San Francisco, down to LA., over to Vegas, Grand Cannon, down to Phoenix/Tucson before heading over to El Paso on game day. From El Pasco, we are going to San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans....getting in BG on Saturday...3 weeks later for our game vs UNCC
Been planning this trip since the schedule was released. I'm assuming the game at UTEP will be a night game? Going off past schedules Oct games have all been night games.
I retired from work (@52) just so I would never have to miss another Western football game. So far I've enjoyed every road trip...win or lose. As long as the health holds I don't plan on missing one.....
usually put 45+k miles each year for Western football and basketball
