Random observation and slightly off topic I suppose...

...but, I happened to be driving through H'burg yesterday on the way back home and noticed on the main drag out by the mall (East Market Street/Rt. 33) the old Long John Silver's that went out of business at least a couple of years ago has finally been knocked down and replaced with a Potbelly Sandwich Shop adjacent to a Sleep Number Mattress store (both next to Chili's). And, across the street on the mall side appears to be a Five Guys that is within a few weeks of opening. Good timing to get these open with the students rolling in soon.

All kinds of landscaping and sod being installed at Jennings Hall. Looks like they are getting close to completion!! Only a couple more weks to go.

The landscaping that has been put in between the dorm and the UREC fields really looks nice. Looks like some concrete pouring for walkways/driveways is going on.

No photos. I was on a run and just happed past an open door.

It had a lot of open space lobby area. It reminded me of the new apartments in alexandria/crystal city area. Really spacious well appointed common areas that residents and guest walk through before getting to the nice but less appointed residential areas.

For sure an A+ college dorm

Just took a look at the cam showing the new Phillips Dining Hall and exterior sheathing is starting to be installed.

The land bridge between Jenkins and east dining hall has been paved.

Jennings Hall is very close to appearance in inside to Apts on Grace across from the Maintenance facility Bldg. The other new Dorm there will be a flipped version of Jennings sharing the courtyard areas.

Any idea when construction on the second dorm is to start? Will it happen immediately or will it wait for a bit?

Was looking at the Dorm CAm and got a big smile out of the 5 or so pieces of plywood on the ground next to the retention pond with the word "HOLE" spray painted on each one. Probably figure a tree or some sort of landscaping item will go in each one. Dorm looks nice!!

Are there pictures of the dorm in progress? Is that part of Deez's Google pictures albums?

Looks like they have taken the Dorm Cam offline. Guess they are about finished over there. Which is good as students are supposed to start moving into the dorm in a couple days.

Main move-in is today and tomorrow - so if you're planning to drive through campus, beware. I was on campus Sunday moving my freshman in - I didn't wander over to the east campus but I've seen parents posting pics of Jennings dorm today - looks nice.
