You seriously have no clue. Nothing like coming in here and creating Enemies from the start. Garbage? Says a school with no football. ECU has held the banner for attendance and is usually badass in football. Tulane will beat you this next year in basketball and football. And baseball.. bearcat#1 please save this thread. For me:). Oh I forgot we can't play in football. Let's replace that with cow tipping. That may give you a win. As for your teams I do wish them success because that what conference mates do. Consider yourself lucky to be here and ECU voting and Tulane voting for you should not be taken lightly.
i'm with ya pablowow. Nothing like a new conference member to come in and start calling other current members garbage. Like the line in Animal House...
You all have an issue with truth? ECU hasn't done crapola in this league. There is an entire multipage thread on this board about it, perhaps where a new poster would get such an idea? While I like ECU had they voted against WSU they would need to be shown the door because as a program they have done nothing in this conference and such a vote would be the cherry on top of that and once and for all settle the question of whether they are riding coattails.
Tulane is a fine institution as well but they have been bottom of this league in everything but baseball. They are clearly trying now but it is widely believed their inclusion was.the breaking of the old big east model. I disagree, but its a popular theory and one brought up on here in multiple threads, perhaps where a new poster would get the idea from? Had Tulane voted against this I would question their academic reputation as this was simply a smart move with low risk and a possible high return.
I am happy both ECU and Tulane are in this conference, I want ECU football to get rolling again, it would make the east as strong as the west. They're in NC, i want them to have that quality basketball program that seems to be a carolina birthright. I want Tulane to start catching that momentum that football had on occassion over the last 20-25 years and see basketball compete. But they havent.
Don't want the kids to grow up insulting and disrespectful, be uplifting and show respect to each other. Or as the old anti-marijuana commercial says, "I learned it from you! Ok."
However I want every member of this conference coming in every year talking about how good.their program is and how they're taking the trophy home this year. Because I want a conference of hungry Rockys, putting in work, chasing down dreams, and punching Apollo (P5) Creed in his pretty boy face. But lets take the belt home at the end. Now cue the 80's montage to the "you're the best around" song

Your rah-rah post is inspirational (sarcasm). Sweet Lord, come down from your Tulsa Mountaintop. Tulsa sure has been kicking butt in football and basketball since joining the AAC. Are you guys crapola? Garbage? Look, I'm happy WSU came to our league PRIMARILY for basketball but don't start calling other programs garbage when you haven't done anything in the league you just joined. In particular, after leaving a little boys league for greener pastures. The current members of the AAC have spent time trying to upgrade facilities and build the brand. They have invested time and money to help do so. They have real skin in the game.

We haven't lost to Memphis in 12 years & they've been looking down at us for a while. ECU usually plays well when we aren't supposed to so hopefully we surprise this year and order will be restored.

Please ECU fans be quiet when you are corrected by your betters, when we were cusa we worked you and owned that league in championships, funny enough since we have been in the AAC with you we have the most conference championships in the league. We currently lead the all sports cup for the conference. Pretty sure we have a winning record in every sport in this confernce since we walked in the door, for reference here is a link on the board to your garbage program. . . http://csnbbs.com/thread-815025.html
Dont like it when little ol tulsa tells you how it is? Then step up your athlectic game, till then sit down and shut up in the back of the bus where you belong right now.
I'll wait patiently for your attendence smack talk. . . Cause we all know you don't want to compare actual school athlectic acomplishments.
Be forewarned though I will bust out the academics . . .

Y'all ever get this guy dug out of the field? Or did you have to just turf over him?
RE: CBS Matt Norlander: "The 'Major 7' in College Basketball"
Now with that said, ECU does need to do better in basketball. We just have powers going against that right now and aren't in a position to right the ship unless we get some money to fire Lebo and I don't know if we have an alumni base that identifies with our basketball team. That's an underrated challenge to ECU basketball. We may have the biggest basketball fanbase in the conference, but they don't identify with ECU.
We're going to have to get the football team on track and just schedule better for basketball until then.

Wichita State is a fine program, and a wise addition to the AAC. But if we (the Big East) thought that highly of you, we'd have invited you into our conference.
The NBE is adhering to a religious litmus test. It has nothing to do with standards.
That's not untrue, but the early C7 board kicked Wichita State around as a fringe candidate. OTOH, we were *thorough*--we looked at numbers on Siena and St Bonaventure, and listened politely to a guy from Western Kentucky who wanted in.

Well, for the first couple of years, new Big East had threads like that.

Fox isn't going to want to pay more for expansion considering the poor ratings. Problem with smaller schools. They don't want to add millions more to the contract.
RE: CBS Matt Norlander: "The 'Major 7' in College Basketball"
To the AAC fans who didn't want to add Wichta St, this is why you do it. The NCAA tourney was P5 + Big East. Then everybody else. The AAC now has a better chance to separate from the other multi-bid conferences and join that top group. It starts with respect, which Wichita State clearly increases.
