The frustrating part is that there are a several good, effective ways not to get pregnant if you don't want to have kids/can't afford to have kids.

I totally understand that it's far more expensive to care for the babies that are being born into difficult situations than it is to just abort them. I understand that people who claim to be "pro-life" need to consider there's more to "life" than not being aborted.

But if we devalue life just because it's expensive and/or inconvenient, then do we eventually start exterminating the elderly? The disabled? The mentally ill? Just seems like an extremely slippery slope we're headed down.

This is the bulk of what PP does. You say you want this but you're celebrating a cut to funding of the organzisation that provides this for millions of people.

There are other organizations that provide that "bulk" who also do not provide abortions. It has been covered ad nauseum. Its just that those other entities dont shovel huge amounts of funds to the democrats, which is why there is true butthurt. It cuts abortions, and it cuts funding to democrats.

Abortions account for 10% of patient service. Around 41% of PP funding comes from the government. I already addressed this issue, even though I think it's a dumb one.

"If the bill asked for PP to go through the tedious task of setting public money aside in a separate account to ensure all the religious people that they weren't directly paying for abortions, that would be ok(but dumb). PP has more money than what's given to it by the government."

No, I am not naive.

Abortions account for 10% of patient service.

Stopped reading here.

Nonsense. They mask (drive down) the numbers with the way they account for what is a "service". They will administer 10 "services" leading up to what is ultimately an abortion, and then claim 1/10 = 10%, when the reality of that situation is 1 patient, 1 abortion.

Is Rob from the P-R board? They surely aren't sending their best. What was that about building a wall, and making Memphis pay for it?

No, the 3% number they throw out is what you're talking about. About 1/10 patients they serve are for abortions.

If PP weren't trying to make a point they would separate the two operations.

Why do you think they choose not to?

Because the law doesn't require them to. If you think they should, I won't argue against that because it would ensure that no tax $ is used for abortion. Let's be honest, Republicans aren't doing this because of tax $, they're doing it to undermine abortion because they don't think it's right. Theses fights would still be happening no matter what PP did because they carry out abortions.

So you are aware that when they say 3% they are talking mearly by number and not by the money or effort that goes into them.

In an average work day I do about 50 things, but about 7 of my 9 hours at the office are consumed by 5 or so items.

They do it because they are against murder AND our tax dollars are being used to do the murdering.

Yes, tax $ is part of it.

Again, we have religious freedom guaranteed in this country, the law says we can't be forced to pay for abortions, and it gets aggravating as hell listening to the lies that no tax payer dollars go to abortions.

It is about tax $. Its deeply offensive that tax $s are propping up an organization who makes most of their profits from doing something the vast majority of Americans find morally wrong and then turning around and sending a good chunk of that money to support one political party.

If you could go back and abort your daughter who struggled so mightily, for a vast majority of her life, would you?

Doesn't everyone deserve a chance? Even if it isn't the most desirable situation?
