I didn't want Pruett then either. This is the same man that tried to leave Marshall high and dry in the middle of the night and go coach in a stadium built in 1941 as a works project for Houston HSs. That's what Robertson Stadium was built for. And then this is the same guy that did walk out and quit on Marshall 15 days before the spring practice in 2005. Why would anyone want him back especially the mess that he left the program in.
We had a down year last year and now you don't have faith in Doc or Hamrick. You do realize that Marshall athletics extend beyond Marshall football and basketball.
In the last 2 years Marshall has:
Both men and women soccer programs have been in the CUSA championship game.
Marshall just placed 211 student athletes on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, 2nd in CUSA, Rice had 269.
Marshall softball is setting at 33-6, 24th RPI in the nation, 26th in the country. And has a WV native (Morgan Zerkle) up for the Senior Class Award.
Marshall tennis has been ranked as high as 19 in the nation and the only program on campus with 5 star athletes, we have 4 of those by the way.
D'Antoni's contract was just extended today for 2 years with a raise.
Since Hamrick has been here he has raised over 60 million dollars in donations to renovate and build new facilities, 42 million of that came in the "Vision Campaign".
There is more to this list but you get the picture. Those people who actually follow all of Marshall's athletics understand how valuable Hamrick is. Those who only follow football are short sighted and want him gone. And to that I just shake my head.
