Tops? If every recruit pans out 17-18 wins might be doable.

Realistically I'll go with .500 plus or minus a game.

Are you guys taking into account almost ALL OF THESE GUYS HAVE NEVER PLAYED TOGETHER?

Yeah, I am. I just think there's going to be enough slaw on the schedule for 10 wins and then 4-6 more from somewhere. Kids are used to playing pick up games.

Now, they won't beat any good teams; well, maybe one at some point in the season but that'll be about it.

We won't have a single top 100 recruit on the team next year if Markel leaves. It's been over 16 years since that's happened. I don't think people are fully understanding how much of a talent dip we are taking and how our roster, at this point, without some major graduate transfers, is below what we are used to seeing. The juco's that we are recruiting are ranked below where Rivers was last year. After Markel leaves, we still have five open scholarships. That's frightening and spring signing day is just around the corner.

IF Tubby could take what we have projected to come back now and win 18 games then we are talking national coach of the year stuff here. As much as I want to believe, I think people are just thinking "we're Memphis we won't be that bad".

Yet, you clowns accepted a failed and downward spiral program for seven years. What was Pastner's laughing stock of a contract...10.7 million and we couldn't get beyond the first round? Where was the outrage then? Some will never give Tubby a chance. However, the real Tiger fans will support and buy season tickets. Go Tigers!

Tubbys getting paid more a year to put a worse product on the floor than a coach everyone agrees needed to be let go.

What product has he placed on the floor? He inherited a poor product from the previous coach.

On a recruiting ranking basis, he inherited a better team than any of his teams over the last 10 years (at least). It wasn't exactly a poor product. I can certainly understand that he would like to get "his" players. I'm just waiting to see who those players are.

I don’t think the Tiger basketball program is as high of a priority as it once was. Maybe it will return to being in or near the top 25 yearly and hoping for a nice run in the NCAA tourney, but don’t hold your breath.

Nonsense. For the hundredth time, we pay our head coach $3MM/year; we're building a new $20MM practice facility. Basketball has not taken a backseat....more like football has joined basketball on the front seat.

The money is there and the willingness to spend it, the only problem being...the guys in charge don't seem to know a good BB coach from a hole in the ground. We did great with Norvell, but we just threw a lot of money at the wrong guy for the BB job.

And there are some in the higher echelons of boosterville who believe that not enough research by those who do the hiring went into the decision. shrug.

We have a situation here.

Dude. We made a mistake. Twice.

It will be corrected.

Stop insulting the administration. It's stupid.

Are you saying the administration is stupid? I wouldn't call them stupid. Maybe they just weren't familiar enough with BB or what it meant to the community and maybe they were really sure we were in the Big12. I mean they shouldn't be faulted for that.
