The American Athletic Conference board of directors will vote on Friday to decide if it will admit Wichita

http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-06...98523160-4

The American Athletic Conference board of directors will vote on Friday to decide if it will admit Wichita State and if yes, will it happen for next season, according to a source with direct knowledge. Wichita State needs 75 percent of the votes for admission. The AAC is expected to add the Shockers and unless there is a hiccup for the 2017-18 season. Another source with direct knowledge said the Shockers want to go for next season and are willing to pass up all of its previous NCAA tournament units from winning games in the tournament to leave before the 24 month deadline to the Missouri Valley Conference without a penalty.

Stupid Valley. That exit clause is going to soak the boosters for a couple years. Hopefully new conference excitement will boost donations.

I imagine it will. I saw Wichita State just hired a WBB coach as well. Imagine when she's coaching against Auriemma's Huskies. I'll bet the Wichita fanbase is going to start caring about ladies hoops too before long.

It's pretty standard (TMK) that you lose your credits. I mean you had to split them with the entire conference to begin with so you probably will still end up making more in the AAC. Am I missing something?

Great addition and next year you will be league favorites.

Jesus, that's a ton of NCAA units they're giving up. Probably worth more than what they'll get in that yearly media rights disbursement from the AAC, that's for sure.

We're pretty confident that we have the ability to go earn some more. And we are absolutely confident that there are more teams in the AAC that can earn shares than there are in the Valley. Don't know a single WSU fan that isn't for making the move this coming season if that option is open.

Absolutely. I'd make the move in a heartbeat, credits be damned. We'll make more in the AAC.

I heard a rumor that a couple of the bottom feeders in the league are dragging their heels on a yes vote. I swear to god, if teams with non-competitive basketball programs screw this up for the rest of us, I am going to lose it.

and if money becomes an issue due to lost credits, I'm sure having the Kochs as donors doesn't hurt.

I don't think a vote is scheduled if the numbers aren't there.

Everything still seems pretty positive from what I can tell.

But you never know until it is over.

Meaning I should still be hearing some serious up-sucking by you wicheeta fans until you get the invite.

I don't think anyone is voting 'no'. This should be unanimous. It helps everyone, from Tulane/USF/ECU to Cincinnati/UConn to Wichita State. I am super pumped about this.
